Xavier Restrepo | Player Introduction
When you think of the great receivers to play at of the University of Miami, you think of names like Michael Irvin, Reggie Wayne, Santana Moss, and/or Andre Johnson. However, the receiver with the most receptions and most receiving yards in the history of the Miami Hurricanes is Xavier Restrepo. While he is a 5th-year player, Restrepo never tallied more than 375 receiving yards until his breakout 2023 campaign.
In 2023, Restrepo ballooned his numbers up to 85 receptions, 1,092 yards and 8 TDs which was good enough for first team All-ACC honors. He doubled down in 2024, catching another 69 passes for 1,127 yards and 11 more TDs. This season put him atop the Miami record books and earned him first team All-ACC and All-American honors.

No. 16 Overall Prospect | Ranked as WR6
A player with a reportedly unparalleled work ethic, Xavier Restrepo is one of my favorite players in this class. Although not as explosive, I believe Restrepo has a chance to be this year’s Ladd McConkey given the right landing spot. Restrepo has great hands and a knack for getting open. He compares athletically to receivers like Sterling Shepard or Julian Edelman, who had a long careers in the slot. Restrepo finished the season with 69 catches for 1,127 yards and 11 touchdowns, averaging 93.9 yards per game. With 200 career receptions at The U, he is the career leader at Miami in both receptions and yards—more than Hurricane legends Michael Irvin, Reggie Wayne, and Andre Johnson.

No. 20 Overall Prospect | Ranked as WR7
Ladd McConkey’s success last season has me less worried about slot players in dynasty, which gives me enough hope for Xavier Restrepo to put him in my top-20 prospects. As Cam Ward’s favorite target, Restrepo ripped off two 1,000-yard seasons to end his career with the Hurricanes. As one of the top slot options in this year’s NFL Draft, Restrepo will likely make his money over the middle, soaking up targets for an offense that needs a smaller option to play this high-target role.

No. 21 Overall Prospect | Ranked as WR7
Xavier Restrepo is a tailor-made NFL slot WR. In the upcoming NFL Combine and pre-draft period, you will hear him frequently compared to Wes Welker, Danny Amendola, and Julian Edelman. Throughout his time at Miami, he proved himself capable of shouldering the load as the top pass catching option in an offense. He would be a great fit in New England with newly renewed OC, Josh McDaniels.

No. 10 Overall Wide Receiver
Xavier Restrepo is the prototypical slot wide receiver at the NFL level. His short-area quickness allows him to consistently beat defenders in man coverage and his natural feel for defenses helps him find soft spots in zone coverage. As I’ve said before: If Restrepo goes to a team that heavily targets the slot, he could be a fantasy monster, and I’ll be getting as many shares as I possibly can.
Xavier Restrepo | Draft Outlook
The NFL outlook for Xavier Restrepo is varied. He offers a different skillset than many of his classmates. He will likely be drafted during the early part of Day 3 of the NFL Draft. However, it wouldn’t be a shock if a team looking for a slot receiver took him on Day 2. For fantasy, his draft value will largely depend on landing spot. Assuming he goes to a favorable offense, Restrepo becomes an option in the 3rd round of SF rookie drafts.
