The Dynasty Nerds writers are here to provide you with weekly start/sit advice all season long. We will be making our recommendations based on weekly consensus PPR rankings. Here is the Week 15 Running Back Start/Sit from Running Back Nerd Mychal Warno.
One thing to keep in mind when making your Week 15 quarterback start/sit decisions for the playoffs; sometimes you need to take a realistic look at your team and situation. If you squeaked into the playoffs or are suffering after the rough Thursday Night Football performance by Isaac Guerendo, it might be time to swing for the fences.
This time of year, one loss ends your season. But, if the odds are stacked against you, it’s time to come swinging. A wide receiver that will get you 10 points may not be enough. Someone like Isiah Pacheco, Sincere McCormick, or Braelon Allen might end up falling flat but they could also end up being the reason you win. Here’s to hoping you win your fantasy championship this year! Now, let’s get to it…

NOTE: Rankings for the Week 15 Running Back Start/Sit are sourced from FantasyPros expert consensus expert rankings (ECR). Our terminology is for a 12-team PPR league: RB1 means top 12, or RB2 means top 24, etc.
START | Week 15 Running Back Start/Sit
Brian Robinson Jr. | Washington Commanders | RB 23
Week 14 Stats | BYE WEEK | Confidence 90%
Brian Robinson Jr. has been very frustrating for fantasy managers, missing multiple games this year due to injury. Coming off their Week 14 bye, Robinson should be well rested and ready for a full workload.
In Week 15, Robinson gets a fantastic matchup against the New Orleans Saints. New Orleans’ run defense allows the 4th-most fantasy points per game to running backs. Robinson should flirt with RB1 numbers.
START | Week 15 Running Back Start/Sit
Rico Dowdle | Dallas Cowboys | RB 19
Week 14 Stats | RB 38 | FPts 15.1 | Att 12 | Yds 131 | Tgts 2 | Confidence 80%
Rico Dowdle has finally gained the confidence of the Dallas Cowboys coaching staff and has been producing with his increased workload. Over each of the past 3 games, Dowdle has received at least 18 carries, resulting in double-digit fantasy points in those games.
Dowdle receives the best matchup possible for running backs in Week 15 against the Carolina Panthers. Carolina has given up the most fantasy points to the running back position and allowed the most rushing yards and touchdowns to RBs.
START | Week 15 Running Back Start/Sit
Zach Charbonnet | Seattle Seahawks | RB 13
Week 14 Stats | RB 1 | FPts 34.8 | Att 22 | Yds 134 | TDs 2 | Tgts 7 | Confidence 90%
It is shaping up for Kenneth Walker to miss his second-straight game Sunday. In the absence of Walker, Zach Charbonnet has been extremely productive. In Charbonnet’s 3 starts this season, he’s averaging 23 touches, 123 yards, and seeing a 15% target share, per Matthew Berry.
Charbonnet has a favorable matchup against the Green Bay Packers. Over the past 4 weeks, Green Bay has allowed the 6th-most fantasy PPG to opposing backs. While I don’t feel that Charbonnet will finish as the overall RB1 in Week 15, he should produce RB1 numbers for the 2nd-straight week.
SIT | Week 15 Running Back Start/Sit
D’Andre Swift | Chicago Bears | RB 24
Week 14 Stats | RB 38 | FPts 4.8 | Att 11 | Yds 48 | Tgts 1 | Confidence 40%
D’Andre Swift’s fantasy production has plummeted. Swift has 3-straight single-digit fantasy performances and only one double-digit performances in his last 6 games. He has also seen his role in the passing game diminish, receiving only 18 targets over his last 7 games. According to Data Nerd Brad Custer‘s Positional Matchup Chart, Swift’s Week 15 matchup is the 3rd toughest among running backs.
In Week 15, Swift will face a division rival in the Minnesota Vikings. Swift has already played the Vikings earlier this year where he only accumulated 6.5 fantasy points and finished as the overall RB25 on the week. Swift is an extremely risky play.
SIT | Week 15 Running Back Start/Sit
Nick Chubb | Cleveland Browns | RB 34
Week 14 Stats | RB 36 | FPts 4.0 | Att 14 | Yds 38 | Tgts 2 | Confidence 45%
Since returning from injury in Week 7, Nick Chubb has produced one RB1 finish. He has failed to surpass double-digit fantasy points in 4 of his last 6 games. Chubb is now a touchdown-dependent running back as he has only seen 10 targets this season.
Nick Chubb gets a terrible matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs, who have allowed the fewest rushing yards and fantasy points to running backs this season. I would sit Chubb and look at other options at your flex position.
SPOTLIGHT SIT | Week 15 Running Back Start/Sit
Jonathan Taylor | Indianapolis Colts | RB 18
Week 14 Stats | BYE WEEK | Confidence 50%
Jonathan Taylor has played 90% of the Indianapolis Colts team snaps since Week 11. Despite that large usage, Taylor has only averaged 8.9 FPPG. Taylor has been very limited in the Colts passing game as well, accounting for only 3% of the team target share per Yahoo Sports’ Matt Harmon.
Jonathan Taylor has a very difficult matchup this week against the Denver Broncos. Since Week 9, Denver has held backs to the fewest rushing yards per game. It will be hard to justify sitting Taylor, but you may have better options including Zach Charbonnet, Rico Dowdle, or Brian Robinson. At the very least, your expectations for Taylor should be lowered.
