Nerds! The Dynasty Nerds writers are here to provide you with positional start/sit advice all season long. We will be making our recommendations based on weekly consensus PPR rankings. Here is the Week 15 Quarterback Start/Sit from Senior NFL Nerd Mike Hicks.
One thing to keep in mind when making your Week 15 quarterback start/sit decisions for the playoffs; sometimes you need to take a realistic look at your team and situation. If you squeaked into the playoffs or are suffering after the rough Thursday Night Football performance by Brock Purdy, it might be time to swing for the fences.
This time of year, one loss ends your season. But, if the odds are stacked against you, it’s time to come swinging. A wide receiver that will get you 10 points may not be enough. Someone like Aaron Rodgers or Geno Smith might end up falling flat but they could also end up being the reason you win. Here’s to hoping you win your fantasy championship this year! Now, let’s get to it…
NOTE: Rankings for Week 15 Quarterback Start/Sit are sourced from FantasyPros expert consensus expert rankings (ECR) and our terminology is for a 12-team PPR league. So, saying QB1 means top 12, or QB2 means top 24, etc.

JUSTIN HERBERT I V. TB I 15.4 FPPG I ECR QB12 | NERDS QB2
Justin Herbert will look to bounce back in Week 15 after having a couple of subpar performances. Herbert’s season has been a tale of two halves. From Week 1 to Week 7, he was QB30, scoring 12.0 FPPG, according to Fantasy Points Data Suite. Between weeks 8 and 12, he was QB9, scoring 21.3 FFPG (FPDS). With a run-heavy offense, Herbert hasn’t had to pass the ball as often as in the past. He has 14 TDs while only throwing 1 INT in 2024.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have been a pass funnel defense this season. They have given up 20-plus fantasy points to QBs seven times so far this season and five times since Week 7. Furthermore, they have given up 271.5 PaYPG and 21 TDs, 4th and 10th-worst in the NFL, respectively. According to Data Nerd Brad Custer’s Postional CheatChart, Justin Herbert has a favorable matchup against the Buccaneers. Tampa Bay is expected to allow 19% more points than Herbert’s average. All signs point toward Herbert having a good performance in Week 15. Go ahead and start Herbert in all formats in Week 15, where he has the upside to be a top 5 QB against the Buccaneers.

C.J. STROUD I V. MIA I 14.8 FPPG I ECR QB14 | NERDS QB14
C.J. Stroud has yet to have the sophomore year that many expected. He has only had three 18-plus fantasy point performances this season. The last time Stroud scored at least 18 points was in Week 6. He is tied for 15th in the league with 15 TDs, and has thrown 9 INTs (FPDS). Stroud is currently averaging 239.8 PaYPG. Coming off the bye week, Stroud will look to get back on track.
The Houston Texans face off against the Miami Dolphins. The Dolphins are a neutral matchup, according to the CheatChart. The Dolphins have given up less than 18 fantasy points to QBs in 9 games this season. They are allowing 226.2 PaYPG, the 10th-fewest in the league. In Superflex formats, he is a must-start. But, I would highly consider your other options in 1QB leagues if possible. I would consider starting Geno Smith and Jared Goff over Stroud.

Aaron Rodgers I V. JAX I 15.2 FPPG I ECR QB23 | NERDS QB15
At times this season, its looked like Aaron Rodgers has seen ghosts on the field. With the New York Jets having a 3-10 record, it might seem like Rodgers is having a horrendous season. Yes, he has struggled, but that’s mainly because of the expectations coming into the season. Rodgers has 20 TDs, 8 INTs, and is averaging 228.2 PaYPG (FPDS). In his last 5 games, Rodgers has finished as a top-12 QB twice and finished two more times inside the top-24 QBs. In Week 14, Rodgers took charge without Breece Hall, even in a loss. Rodgers will look to use that momentum here in Week 15.
Pass, pass, and keep passing! That’s what teams have done against the Jacksonville Jaguars all season. That’s exactly what Aaron Rodgers will look to do in Week 15. The Jaguars have given up the 2nd-most passing yards per game at 277.1. They also have given up 24 passing TDs and only have 5 INT this season (FPDS). The Jaguars have given up 18-plus points to QBs in 8 of 13 games this season (FPDS). According to the CheatChart, the Jaguars allow 10% more points than Rodgers season average. I am not advising you to play Rodgers in 1 QB leagues, but you could do worse than him in Superflex leagues.

ANTHONY RICHARDSON I V. DEN I 15.6 FPPG I ECR QB18 | NERDS QB25
The Indianapolis Colts and Anthony Richardson are coming of their bye. Since getting his job back in Week 11, Richardson has shown us what his believers were looking forward to coming into his sophomore season. Richardson scored 23-plus fantasy points in 2 of his 3 last games. However, he still has more to prove before we can trust him in the fantasy playoffs. So far on the season, Richardson has 4 sub-13-point games. Yes, he is an athletic quarterback, but he still needs to improve his passing game. He is averaging only 167.9 PaYPG (FPDS). He also only has 7 TDs and 9 INTs.
Anthony Richardson faces off against a Denver Broncos defense that has looked good throughout the season. Yes, they gave up 35 points to Jameis Winston in Week 13, but they have only given 18-plus points in 2 other weeks all year. They are giving up 242.0 PaYPG but on the bright side, they have 12 INTs (8th in the NFL) and a league-high 47 sacks (FPDS). According to the Dynasty Nerds GM Tool, Richardson is projected to score 14.9 fantasy points, which is 3.16 fewer than his Sleeper projection. Against a good defense and in a likely low-scoring affair, temper your expectations for Richardson. Sit him in 1QB leagues, and look elsewhere if possible in Superflex leagues.

PATRICK MAHOMES I V. CLE I 17.6 FPPG I ECR QB12 | NERDS QB10
Even though the Kansas City Chiefs are off to a 12-1 start., Patrick Mahomes has not been the superstar we expected. Mahomes has 20 TDs and is averaging 245.3 PaYPG. But, not everything has been looking up for Mahomes. He is also only three INTs away from setting a career-high. For a player of his caliber, he has been a disappointment. He only has three 18-plus performances this season.
In Week 15, Patrick Mahomes goes on the road to face the Cleveland Browns. The Chiefs have scored fewer than 20 points in their last two games and that plays right into the hands of the Browns defense. The Browns are giving up 231.2 PaYPG (FPDS). According to the CheatChart, Cleveland is an unfavorable matchup for Mahomes. They are protected to allow 7% fewer points than Mahomes season average. It’s hard to believe that at this point of the season you would even have to consider sitting Mahomes, but that’s why he is my spotlight QB for Week 15.
