Nerds! The Dynasty Nerds writers are here to provide you with weekly start/sit advice all season long. We will be making our recommendations based on weekly consensus PPR rankings. Here is your Week 14 Wide Receiver Start/Sit advice from senior writer Tristan Cook.
One thing to keep in mind when making your Week 14 wide receiver start/sit decisions; it will ALWAYS depend on who your other options are. Don’t take the players below out of (or put them into) your lineup unless the alternatives are worth it.
Before we dive into this article, I want to thank each person that has followed along with the wide receiver start/sits each week. I hope that my recommendations have helped you win a game or two. There are a lot of sources for fantasy football content, so the support that you’ve provided to Dynasty Nerds this season is greatly appreciated. We will continue providing our start/sit recommendations for the duration of the fantasy playoffs. Here’s to hoping you win your fantasy championship this year! Now, let’s get to it…

NOTE: Rankings are sourced from FantasyPros expert consensus expert rankings (ECR) and our terminology is for a 12-team PPR league. So, saying WR2 means top 24, or WR1 means top 12, etc.
START | Week 14 Wide Receiver Start/Sit
Khalil Shakir | Buffalo Bills | WR 18
Week 13 Stats | WR 60 | FPts 7.0 | Tgts 7 | Rec 4 | Yds 30 | Confidence 85%
If you’ve read this article before, you know that the main thing I look for is players who are in line for a large dose of targets. This week is no different. Despite trading for veteran wideout Amari Cooper, the Bills’ receiver you’ve wanted in your starting lineup this season is Khalil Shakir. Since Week 7, he’s averaged 8.7 targets per game.
Even in the blizzard that we saw in Buffalo last week, Shakir managed 7 targets against one of the best pass defenses in the league. He gets a much softer matchup this week against the Los Angeles Rams. I have Shakir flirting with a WR1 ranking, much higher than his ECR. Put him in your lineup with confidence.
START | Week 14 Wide Receiver Start/Sit
Jordan Addison | Minnesota Vikings | WR 19
Week 13 Stats | WR 46 | FPts 9.4 | Tgts 6 | Rec 4 | Yds 54 | Confidence 75%
Similar to the aforementioned Khalil Shakir, Jordan Addison has been heavily targeted of late. Over his last 3 games, Addison has 23 targets (7.7 per game). He’s benefitted from opposing defenses focusing on Justin Jefferson. If you look back a little further, Addison has three top-24 finishes in his last 5 games.
While he’s been a little bit inconsistent, the targets have been strong and the matchup this week is juicy. Atlanta is a bottom-half of the league pass defense and the Vikings are a top-10 passing offense. I expect this to be a big week for Addison. So play him with confidence.
START | Week 14 Wide Receiver Start/Sit
Jerry Jeudy | Cleveland Browns | WR 13
Week 13 Stats | WR 1 | FPts 30.2 | Tgts 13 | Rec 9 | Yds 235 | TDs 1 | Confidence 85%
Continuing on this trend, my next start had a career game last week against the Denver Broncos. However, his WR1 overall week was not a fluke. Since Week 8, Jeudy has 49 targets (9.8 per game), which is 7th-most in the NFL. What’s even more impressive is that Cleveland had their bye week during that period.
Despite what we saw during his time in Denver, Jerry Jeudy has been good for fantasy managers. This week, Cleveland squares off against Pittsburgh. The Steelers’ pass defense is right in the middle in terms of yards allowed per game. However, they have the fourth-toughest rush defense. Furthermore, Cleveland is the third-worst rushing offense in the NFL. I expect Jameis Winston to air it out again and Jerry Jeudy will be the beneficiary. I have Jerry Jeudy ranked as a borderline WR1 this week, much higher than his ECR.
START | Week 14 Wide Receiver Start/Sit
Nick Westbrook-Ikhine | Tennessee Titans | WR 27
Week 13 Stats | WR 8 | FPts 21.1 | Tgts 8 | Rec 3 | Yds 61 | TDs 2 | Confidence 85%
Another “start”, another player with a strong target share of late. However, what’s really propped up Nick Westbrook-Ikhine’s fantasy production are his touchdowns. He has scored 8 times in his last 8 games. While that touchdown rate isn’t sustainable (scoring a TD on 40% of his receptions), I believe this week will be another big week.
The main reason for this optimism is the matchup. Jacksonville’s pass defense is the worst in the league, and it’s not particularly close. Their 273.3 passing yards allowed per game is nearly 10 yards worse than the second-worst team. I expect Will Levis to have success throwing the ball, with Nick Westbrook-Ikhine being the focal point of the passing attack.
START | Week 14 Wide Receiver Start/Sit
Jaylen Waddle | Miami Dolphins | WR 26
Week 13 Stats | WR 36 | FPts 30.2 | Tgts 4 | Rec 4 | Yds 53 | Confidence 70%
After a big game against the New England Patriots in Week 12, Jaylen Waddle struggled a bit on Thanksgiving against the Packers. His season, like the Dolphins, has been disappointing. Waddle only has one WR1 finish, one WR2 finish, and one WR3 finish through 13 weeks. Much of that can be attributed to the greater struggles of the Miami offense in 2024, but Waddle is far from a no-brainer “start” each week.
This week, Miami hosts the New York Jets. The Jets have the second-toughest pass defense in the NFL. So, why is he on the “start” list? There are a couple reasons. First, I expect Sauce Gardner to primarily focus on shutting down Tyreek Hill. Second, Miami’s rush offense has been poor this season. I expect Tua Tagovailoa to throw the ball early and often. There’s risk in starting Waddle, but I’m fully on board for Week 14.
SIT | Week 14 Wide Receiver Start/Sit
Brian Thomas Jr. | Jacksonville Jaguars | WR 38
Week 13 Stats | WR 16 | FPts 18.7 | Tgts 10 | Rec 4 | Yds 76 | TDs 1 | Confidence 15 %
I only have one “sit” this week, and that is Jacksonville’s rookie sensation, Brian Thomas Jr. Normally, I would be eager to play a receiver with 17 targets over his last 2 games. However, this instance is different. After putting Trevor Lawrence on IR, the Jags are turning to Mac Jones to lead this offense.
Unfortunately for Mac Jones and anyone with Jacksonville pass catchers, the matchup with the Tennessee Titans is the toughest in the NFL. The Titans are allowing a mere 171.8 passing yards per game. You’ll likely need Brian Thomas Jr. to score a touchdown to reach his ECR ranking of WR26. I have him outside my top-36 receivers and would look elsewhere for receiver this week.
