One thing to keep in mind when making your Week 14 tight end start/sit decisions; it will ALWAYS depend on who your other options are. Don’t take the players below out of (or put them into) your lineup unless the alternatives are worth it.

Week 14 Tight End PPR Rankings by Steven Pintado
START | Week 14 Tight End Start/Sit
Jake Ferguson/Luke Schoonmaker | Dallas Cowboys | TE 20
Week 13 Stats | TE25 | FPts 8.3 | Tgts 6 | Rec 5 | Yds 33 | Confidence 80%
The Dallas Cowboys starting tight end is the player you want to start in Week 14. Jake Ferguson finally got a full practice on Thursday, which could lead to him getting back into the starting lineup for Week 14. Ferguson missed time due to a concussion, so if he clears concussion protocol, he’ll be good to go. The Cowboys’ tight end always sees solid targets and is able to produce for your fantasy teams. The starting tight end has averaged 6 targets and 8.5 fantasy points per game this season (FPPG).
Even in the last few weeks, Luke Schoonmaker has done well with Cooper Rush, averaging 10.1 FPPG in the last 3 games. They will face off against the Bengals, who allow the second-most fantasy points to tight ends per Pro Football Reference. In the last three games, the Bengals have allowed at least 60 yards and a touchdown to an opposing tight end. Whether it’s Ferguson back in the lineup or Schoonmaker playing for Ferguson, the starter should be in your lineup for Week 14.
SIT | Week 14 Tight End Start/Sit
Juwan Johnson | New Orleans Saints | TE 16
Week 13 Stats | TE24 | FPts 8.6 | Tgts 7 | Rec 5 | Yds 38 | Confidence 60%
Our sit of the week is Saints tight end Juwan Johnson. Fantasy managers may want to lean on Juwan Johnson due to the mega bye week and seeing Taysom Hill head to the IR. You may think Juwan Johnson will see an uptake in targets in a matchup against the poor Giants. However, that would be where you are wrong about Johnson’s Week 14 value.
The Giants are a great team at defending fantasy tight ends this season. The Giants allow the fewest fantasy points per game to tight ends this year at 4 points. New York has been a nightmare matchup, as they have not allowed a TE over 35 yards since Week 5. In that span, they have not even given up a TE1 performance. Despite the Saints’ tight ends seeing a high target share (25.27%) this season, I wouldn’t take that risk to play them in a potential Week 14 matchup.
Streamer | START | Week 14 Tight End Start/Sit
Chigoziem Okonkwo | Teneessee Titans | TE 19
Week 13 Stats | TE31 | FPts 5.7 | Tgts 6 | Rec 3 | Yds 27 | Confidence 60%
Our tight-end streamer is someone who many haven’t considered starting for most of the season. That is Chigoziem Okonkwo from the Tennessee Titans. Okonkwo has only had 1 game over 10 fantasy points this year. The mega bye week is here, and Okonkwo has a favorable matchup. The Jaguars are in the bottom-10 against fantasy tight ends per game this year, and have allowed the third-most touchdowns to the position.
In the last 7 games, the Jaguars have allowed 50 or more receiving yards to an opposing tight end in 5 of those games. Will Levis has been playing better since returning from injury, and the Titans may try to get Levis’ confidence up in a favorable matchup. Okonkwo may be risky, but he could give us a boom week to help you get into the playoffs.
Spotlight | START | Week 14 Tight End Start/Sit
Cade Otton | Tampa Bay Buccaneers | TE 10
Week 13 Stats | TE29 | FPts 6 | Tgts 7 | Rec 4 | Yds 20 | Confidence 80%
Our tight end spotlight this week is Cade Otton. Fantasy managers don’t know if they can continue to trust Otton in a big Week 14 matchup. After averaging 22.9 fantasy points from Weeks 7-9, Otton has dropped to 6.2 in his last 3 matchups. The return of Mike Evans for the last two game has hurt Otton’s targets, as he’s down to averaging 5 targets per game. The targets remain decent but production has fallen off. Last week, Otton had a favorable matchup against the Panthers and failed to produce.
Redemption | START | Week 14 Tight End Start/Sit
Will Dissly | Los Angeles Chargers | TE 11
Week 13 Stats | TE61 | FPts 0 | Tgts 1 | Rec 0 | Yds 0 | Confidence 75%
Our tight end to redeem themselves in Week 14 is Will Dissly. The Chargers tight end was a major disappointment in Week 13 with a one target game. Dissly has a prime opportunity to bounce-back against the Chiefs. Kansas City has struggled against tight ends all season, and it has been a matchup to exploit. In the last 7 games, the Chiefs have allowed 40 or more receiving yards to an opposing tight end in each game. In that span, they have allowed 4 TE1 performances.
The Chargers could be without the star rookie receiver Ladd McConkey or he at least could limited in this game. That could mean Will Dissly sees more targets in this important Sunday Night Football game. The Chargers will need to get back to relying on their passing game since the they struggled to run the ball without JK Dobbins. They will face the Chiefs’ elite run defense, so Herbert could rely on his tight end in this matchup.
