One thing to keep in mind when making Week 14 Quarterback start/sit decisions; it will ALWAYS depend on who your other options are. Don’t take the players below out of (or put them into) your lineups unless the alternates are worth it.

1QB | START | Week 14 Quarterback Start/Sit
WILL LEVIS I V. JAX I 13.2 FPPG I ECR QB16 | NERDS QB9 I 80% CONFIDENCE
Will Levis has played in nine games this season for the struggling Tennessee Titans. He has shown signs of being a decent quarterback in the NFL, but has yet to shine in 2024. According to Fantasy Points Data Suite, Levis is 31st in the NFL, averaging 184.3 passing yards per game (PaYPG). However, he has started ticking upward throwing for over 275 yards in two of his last 3 games (FPDS). Levis has an ADOT of 9.0 yards (9th) and a deep throw rate of 13.8% (7th) among quarterbacks. Can he continue his upward trend in week 14?
Will Levis will look to have the best performance of his season so far, and boy, oh boy, this is the matchup to do so. The Tennessee Titans are facing off against their AFC South division foe, the Jacksonville Jaguars, who have struggled all season long. Jacksonville’s defense is giving up 286.2 PaYPG, most in the NFL (FPDS). Their defense has also given up 24 passing TDs in 2024.
According to Data Nerd Brad Custer’s Positional CheatChart, Levis has a plus matchup against the Jaguars in Week 14. The Jaguars are expected to give up 17% more points than Levis’ average. With six teams on bye, you might have to make some risky moves this week, and this can be one of them. Levis is a must-start in Superflex leagues and a low-end QB1 option this week in 1QB formats.
1QB | SIT | Week 14 Quarterback Start/Sit
TUA TAGOVAILOA I V. NYJ I 18.3 FPPG I ECR QB11 | NERDS QB14 I 60% CONFIDENCE
Since his return from injury in Week 8, Tua Tagovailoa has shown signs of being the quarterback that we expected this season. Tagovailoa has the lowest ADOT of 6.0 yards, but that is by design. He has the NFL’s best completion rate at 74.5% and also has the highest Highly Accurate Throw percentage at 61.9%. Another sign that Tagovailoa is perfect for the Dolphins offense is his Catchable Throw percentage of 82.7%. This has led to 3 consecutive top-10 performances.
Can Tua Tagovailoa and the Miami Dolphins continue their offensive success against the New York Jets in Week 14? The Jets have struggled in 2024, but their defense has been able to stop QBs at times this year. The Jets’ defense is 2nd in the NFL, giving up a paltry 197.9 PaYPG (FPDS). They have also allowed a league-low 9 passing TDs. The Jets defense has given up 18-plus fantasy point performances 4 times in 2024. However, 3 of 4 of those were against running QBs (FPDS). I expect Tagovailoa to have a difficult time against the Jets. Sit Tagovailoa in 1QB leagues this week, if you can.

COOPER RUSH I V. CIN I 7.4 FPPG I ECR QB22 | NERDS QB11 I 70% CONFIDENCE
For better or for worse, Cooper Rush is back under center for the Dallas Cowboys for another week. Rush is averaging 126.0 PaYPG with 5 TDs. Not everything has been positive for Rush, but he has shown that he can be competent at times. Since becoming the starting QB, Rush has had a PaYPG After The Catch rate of 55.9%, 7th in the NFL (FPDS). He also has 3rd highest drop rate (7.5%) since Week 10 (FPDS). Can he jump back on the saddle and have a decent fantasy performance in Week 14?
The Dallas Cowboys will play the Cincinnati Bengals on Monday Night Football in Week 14. The Bengals are giving up 250.9 PaYPG, the 6th most in the NFL (FPDS). The Bengals have struggled to get to the QB in 2024, with a Pressure Rate of 29.6%, 23rd in the NFL. They also have the league’s 2nd-fewest sacks with 21 (FPDS). The Bengals are expected to allow 31% more fantasy points than Rush’s average, the 3rd-best matchup in Week 14 (CheatChart).
With an expected Over/Under of 49.5, this should be a high-scoring affair. In either a win or in garbage time, Rush should have a good performance this week. With 6 teams on bye, you should feel comfortable starting Rush in Superflex leagues, where he has the upside to be a top 15 QB this week.
SuperFlex | SIT | Week 14 Quarterback Start/Sit
JAMEIS WINSTON I V. PIT I 12.5 FPPG I ECR QB17 | NERDS QB22 I 35% CONFIDENCE
The good, the bad, and the ugly! That epitomizes Jameis Winston as a fantasy football QB in 2024. Winston was the QB1 in Week 13, with 497 yards, 4 TD, and 3 INTs. But overall, Winston has been a fantasy football yo-yo this season. Two of his last four performances have been outside the top 15. Winston has always been feast or famine. For the season Winston has 11 TDs but also has 7 INTs. His Turnover Worthy Throw rate is 4th worst in the NFL (FPDS).
The Cleveland Browns face off against their rival this week, the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Steelers have been a tough matchup for QBs this year. They have only given up 18-plus fantasy points once this season. They are the hardest matchup, according to the CheatChart, expected to allow 38% fewer points than Winston’s average. According to our Dynasty GM Tool, Winston is projected to score 13.63 fantasy points, which is 4.51 fewer than his Sleeper projection. With 6 teams on bye it’s hard to bench Winston, but keep him out of your lineups if possible.

BROCK PURDY I V. CHI I 18.2 FPPG I ECR QB13 | NERDS QB5 I 70% CONFIDENCE
Brock Purdy has had a successful fantasy season in 2024, even though the San Francisco 49ers have struggled in the win column. Purdy is averaging 246.1 PaYPG and has 13 TDs, and 5 INTs (FPDS). Unfortunately, the 49ers have dealt with injuries all season, and Purdy had to miss Week 12 with a shoulder injury. Now, the 49ers are without Christian McCaffrey for the rest of the season after a knee injury in Week 13.
Against a Chicago Bears defense that has been strong all season, Brock Purdy is not a slam dunk play this week. The Bears have given up three 18-plus fantasy point performances this season (FPDS). They are a neutral matchup according to the CheatChart, expecting to allow 2% fewer points than Purdy’s average. Purdy is my spotlight player of the week because of the massive range of outcomes he can have. He could have a top-5 performance but also has the chance this week to finish outside the top 15. Yes, you should put Purdy in your lineups this week, but make sure you understand he is not a slam dunk play.
