One thing to keep in mind when making your Week 13 tight end start/sit decisions; it will ALWAYS depend on who your other options are. Don’t take the players below out of (or put them into) your lineup unless the alternatives are worth it.

Week 13 Tight End PPR Rankings by Steven Pintado
START | Week 13 Tight End Start/Sit
Will Dissly | Los Angeles Chargers | TE 16
Week 12 Stats | TE17 | FPts 8.7 | Tgts 4 | Rec 4 | Yds 47 | Confidence 79%
Our tight end start of the week will be Will Dissly. Since the Chargers bye week, Dissly has been playing as a top-13 tight end in fantasy football. In the last 3 weeks, he has 8 or more fantasy points. The important part is that Will Dissly is second in targets since their Week 5 bye. Dissly is going to have a great matchup in Week 13. He’ll face off against the Falcons, who are in the bottom 10 against tight ends per Pro Football Reference.
The Falcons have struggled against fantasy tight ends in the last month and a half. They have given up at least 8 or more fantasy points to 4 of the previous 5 opposing tight ends. When they have a higher target share in games, some opposing tight ends have produced high fantasy outputs. As long as Dissly is receiving his 15.9% target share, he will produce for your fantasy team.
SIT | Week 13 Tight End Start/Sit
Kyle Pitts | Atlanta Falcons | TE 14
Week 12 Stats | BYE Week | Confidence 60%
Our tight end sit of the week has to be Kyle Pitts. Pitts has been an inconsistent fantasy tight end this season, and his last game in Week 11 left very little to be desired. Now that he is fresh off the BYE week, it’s still unclear if we can trust Pitts fully. He has been TE15 in points per game per Fantasy Pros, but in the last 4 weeks, he has been TE37. The biggest issue with Pitts is that his targets dictate his fantasy production this year. When he sees at least 5 targets, he averages 13.6 fantasy points. In games where he sees under 5 targets, he is averaging 4.1 fantasy points.
Now he’ll face off against a Chargers team in Week 13 that has been in the top 10 in stopping fantasy tight ends this year. It wasn’t until last week that the Chargers allowed their first touchdown to a tight end. That tight end was made by Mark Andrews, who made a fantastic catch to make that happen. The Chargers have mostly kept tight ends under 50 receiving yards this season outside of 3 of them. Pitts isn’t a top-2 target option in Atlanta and has struggled to find the end zone this season. He is best left on benches in Week 13.
Streamer | START | Week 13 Tight End Start/Sit
Austin Hooper | Indianapolis Colts | TE 31
Week 12 Stats | TE6 | FPts 15.9 | Tgts 4 | Rec 4 | Yds 59 | 1 TD | Confidence 55%
Our tight-end streamer this week is a bit risky, but those fantasy managers who need some luck as playoffs are approaching may want to play Austin Hooper. Hooper has been seeing some consistent production on the field, with at least 4 targets in 5 of the last 6 games. In the previous 3 weeks, Hooper has seen a spike in production, with at least 7 fantasy points in 3-straight games.
The Patriots lack strong fantasy options, and Hooper has stepped up as the backup tight end. He’ll get a matchup against the Colts, who allow the 9th-most fantasy points per game to tight ends. In recent weeks, the Colts have allowed at least 6 fantasy points in 5 of the last 6 games. Hooper could give you some solid production in Week 13 in a pinch.
Spotlight | START | Week 13 Tight End Start/Sit
Taysom Hill | New Orleans Saints | TE 9
Week 12 Stats | BYE Week | Confidence 85%
Our tight end spotlight this week is Taysom Hill. You may have forgotten, but in Week 11, Hill finished with 42.5 fantasy points. Since he has returned, Hill has at least 40 total yards in each of his last 4 games. The biggest factor that will help Taysom Hill is his 21 red zone touches in the previous 4 weeks. Hill will stay a big factor in this Saints offense due to the lack of talent right now.
He plays the backup running back role to Alvin Kamara and mixes in as the top target option for Derek Carr. Let’s not forget the occasional passing value he offers as well. Hill’s matchup against the Rams is a good matchup as they are a bottom-10 team against tight ends. Hill is the ultimate boom-or-bust option at the tight end position that you should be starting. Unless you have a top 5 to 7 tight end, then Hill can be a difference maker in a game that could end up being competitive.
Redemption | START | Week 13 Tight End Start/Sit
Cade Otton | Carolina Panthers | TE 8
Week 12 Stats | TE28 | FPts 4 | Tgts 3 | Rec 1 | Yds 30 | Confidence 90%
Our tight end who should redeem himself in Week 13 is Cade Otton. Last week, Otton was a big disappointment coming off his BYE week. There could be plenty of reasons why Otton did not produce in fantasy. First, the Buccaneers got out to an early lead, and the need to throw the ball wasn’t priority. Second, it could be the return of Mike Evans. The backfield has also pushed Otton back down the target rank. The Giants could have been a strong team in preventing fantasy production to tight ends this season. All those could factor in, but Otton should be able to get back into our good grace in Week 13.
He’ll face off against the Panthers, who are the worst team in the league at stopping Fantasy points. They have allowed the 3rd-most yards and the most touchdowns (9) per Pro Football Reference. The Panthers have allowed at least 7-or-more fantasy points to a tight end since Week 5. They have allowed 4 tight ends to finish as a TE1 in PPR leagues in that span. I expect this game to have higher scoring, forcing the Buccaneers to throw the ball more since the Panthers looked like a team that is getting better. Otton should be back in the lineup for your matchups this week.
