It's time again! Week 11 is here and @THEtristancook is back to help break down your wide receiver start/sit decisions. If you're worried about your lineup, don't be—let him Cook.
This entry is part 4 of 7 in the series Win Your Week 11

Nerds! The Dynasty Nerds writers are here to provide you with weekly start/sit advice all season long. We will be making our recommendations based on weekly consensus PPR rankings. Here is the Week 11 Wide Receiver Start/Sit from College Content Director Tristan Cook.

One thing to keep in mind when making your Week 11 wide receiver start/sit decisions; it will ALWAYS depend on who your other options are. Don’t take the players below out of (or put them into) your lineup unless the alternatives are worth it.

NOTE: Rankings are sourced from FantasyPros expert consensus expert rankings (ECR) and our terminology is for a 12-team PPR league. So, saying WR2 means top 24, or WR1 means top 12, etc.

WEEK 11 WIDE RECEIVER START/sit

Khalil Shakir | Buffalo Bills | WR 32

Week 10 Stats | WR 25 | FPts 11.8 | Tgts 9 | Rec 6 | Yds 58 | Confidence 85%

After a disappointing week of wide receiver start/sit calls, we’re going back to our roots of focusing on players who are in line to see a heavy target share. The first player to fit the bill is Bills’ primary slot receiver, Khalil Shakir. Over his last 4 games, Shakir saw 33 targets, with at least 7 in each game. During that same span, he finished above this week’s WR32 ranking in 3 of those games, including a WR10 finish. In his other game, Shakir still managed to finish as a respectable WR35.

This week, the Bills take on the Chiefs in what has the makings of another epic battle for AFC supremacy. The Chiefs (3rd) and Bills (4th) are among the best passing offenses in the conference. It looks like Buffalo could be without Keon Coleman, Amari Cooper, and Dalton Kincaid. With all the uncertainty about who will be available for Buffalo, Khalil Shakir is the one constant and should be in your Week 11 lineups.

Tank Dell | Houston Texans | WR 31

Week 10 Stats | WR 41 | FPts 8.3 | Tgts 9 | Rec 5 | RecYds 31 | Ru 1 | RuYds -6 | Confidence 85%

Part of a once-vaunted receiving corp that has been hit heavy with injuries, Tank Tell is my next START candidate. With Stefon Diggs suffering a season-ending knee injury and Nico Collins not being at 100% after an IR stint due to a hamstring injury, Dell is the only healthy viable Texans wide receiver.

In the 2 games without either Diggs or Collins, Dell saw 9 targets in each. His efficiency wasn’t ideal last week, but we are mostly concerned with target share. I expect the Texans to get their offense back on track this week against a reeling Dallas team. Start Tank Dell with confidence.

Jaylen Waddle | Miami Dolphins | WR 35

Week 10 Stats | WR 39 | FPts 8.6 | Tgts 6 | Rec 3 | RecYds 57 | Ru 1 | RuYds -1 | Confidence 75%

My next START deviates slightly from the usual methodology for my recommendations. He is facing the Las Vegas Raiders this week who have a slightly above-average pass defense. He also hasn’t been heavily targeted recently. So, why is he a start?

The Miami offense is starting to click after the return of Tua Tagovailoa and Tyreek Hill is dealing with a torn ligament in his wrist. I believe the Dolphins are going to look much closer to the explosive offense we’ve seen in the past than the anemic offense we saw without Tagovailoa. The Raiders provide the perfect opportunity to get back on track. Start Jaylen Waddle with confidence this week.

Tee Higgins OR Andre Iosivas | Cincinnati Bengals | WR 58 and WR 63

Week 10 Stats | WR 61 | FPts 4.9 | Tgts 4 | Rec 2 | Yds 29 | Confidence 75%

My final START(s) of Week 11 are the non-Ja’Marr Chase receivers on the Cincinnati Bengals. The status of Tee Higgins will determine if Andre Iosivas is a “start” or not. The analysis of Tee Higgins is simple. If he plays for the Bengals, he plays for your fantasy team. Unfortunately, Higgins is still a major question mark. If he misses the game, then Andre Iosivas becomes a very interesting option.

After watching Ja’Marr Chase torch the Baltimore Ravens, I expect the Dallas Cowboys to do everything they can to slow him down. I assume we will see Trevon Diggs line up across from Chase, which means that other weapons will need to step up. If you are in need of a lottery ticket, you could do a lot worse than Andre Iosivas.

Week 11 WIDE RECEIVER start/SIT

Josh Downs | Indianapolis Colts | WR 19

Week 10 Stats | WR 20 | FPts 14.2 | Tgts 10 | Rec 7 | Yds 72 | Confidence 5%

My two SITs this week have one thing in common: they are facing stingy pass defenses. However, in the case of Josh Downs, his newly reappointed quarterback—Anthony Richardson—brings a whole other set of concerns for fantasy managers of Downs (and all Colts’ pass catchers).

The Colts square off against the New York Jets this week. New York is the second-toughest pass defense, allowing 168.3 passing yards per game. When he was the starter, Richardson averaged 159.7 passing yards per game. That means that Richardson needs to outpace his weekly average to get up to the second-lowest average pass yardage. I want Anthony Richardson to succeed, but the only Colts player you can feasibly start is Jonathan Taylor until further notice.

Week 11 WIDE RECEIVER start/sit FADE

Drake London | Atlanta Falcons | WR 14

Week 10 Stats | WR 11 | FPts 17.7 | Tgts 12 | Rec 8 | Yds 97 | Confidence 10%

My last SIT is really more of a “fade.” You probably don’t have better options than Drake London this week, but expectations need to be tempered. The Falcons go on the road to the Mile High City against the stout Broncos defense. Denver is coming off of a heartbreaking last-second loss to the Kansas City Chiefs where their defense still managed to hold Mahomes in check.

Outside of the dismantling by the Baltimore Ravens a couple weeks ago, Denver was playing well against the pass. Even after that game, they are still the 10th-best pass defense. Denver has held all but 1 of their opponents (Baltimore) to 20 points or fewer. Much of Drake London’s viability as a top-fantasy option has been due to his ability to score touchdowns. I’m not so sure that he gets in the end zone this week. So, I’m not going to be starting him this week. Look elsewhere if you have other options.

That’s it for Week 11 wide receiver start/sit advice, feel free to reach out to me on Twitter (x) (@THEtristancook) if you have any specific questions about who I would start.
