2025 NFL Free Agent Tracker | Updated: March 11th, 2025
Players Staying Put
Josh Allen | QB | Age 30 | Buffalo Bills
Update 3/11: After guaranteeing Josh Allen a quarter of a billion dollars—yes, with a “B”—the Buffalo Bills locked up their superstar quarterback. The extension was not a necessity. With four years left on his current contract, the Bills tacked on another two years to extend his contract into 2030, putting him at 34-years old when his deal runs out.
Matthew Stafford | QB | Age 37 | Los Angeles Rams
Update 3/8: The saga surrounding Matthew Stafford has reached a conclusion, as the Los Angele Rams will be holding onto their quarterback for at least one more season. While the new contract has yet to be announced, the Rams will at least have some offensive stability in the same offseason where Cooper Kupp will likely be playing elsewhere.
2/25: The future of Matthew Stafford with the Los Angeles Rams is up in the air, as his agent has been given permission to talk with other teams to gauge his value. The former Lions QB has been with the Rams for four seasons, including winning Super Bowl LVI against the Bengals.
While it isn’t a foregone conclusion that Stafford is wearing a different uniform next season, as the Rams could just pay him what the market tells him is his value, a lot of signs point to him being on a different roster. A team like the New York Giants has been rumored as a possible landing spot, which would elevate Malik Nabers’ stock even more.
Saquon Barkley | Age 28 | Philadelphia Eagles
Update 3/14: Super Bowl winner Saquon Barkley cashed in on a contract extension with the Philadelphia Eagles, tacking on another 2 years and $41.2 million onto his existing deal.
Khalil Shakir | WR | Age 25 | Buffalo Bills
Update 3/8: Locking up Allen’s top target this offseason was apparently a priority for Buffalo, who handed a four-year deal to WR Khalil Shakir. Shakir is coming off the best season of his career, hauling in 76 receptions for 821 yards and four touchdowns.
Ty Johnson | Age 27 | Buffalo Bills
Ty Johnson re-signed with the Buffalo Bills, agreeing to a 2-year deal worth $5 million.
Players On The Move
Geno Smith | QB | Age 34 | Seattle Seahawks
Update 3/8: The biggest trade of the NFL offseason (so far) includes shipping out veteran QB Geno Smith to the Las Vegas Raiders for a 2025 3rd Round selection. Smith will be staying out west but swapping conferences, as the Raiders likely take themselves out of the running for a 1st Round quarterback.

Seattle now goes back to the drawing board at QB, as they likely will shift their focus to Sam Darnold or even Kirk Cousins, while Las Vegas finally gets a proven answer at QB in Smith, who should pepper Brock Bowers with a ton of targets.
Daniel Jones | Age 27 | Indianapolis Colts
Update 3/14: Daniel Jones joins the Indianapolis Colts on a 1-year, $14-million deal to compete with Anthony Richardson for the starting job.
Aaron Rodgers | QB | Age 41 | New York Jets
Update 2/25: If Aaron Rodgers wants to continue to play in the NFL, it will not be for the New York Jets, who are moving on from the Super Bowl-winning QB. There isn’t a logical landing spot for Rodgers at this point, so it remains to be seen if a starting job will open, although retirement is a potential outcome as well heading into next season.
DK Metcalf | WR | Age 27 | Pittsburgh Steelers
Updated 3/11: After getting his trade request granted, D.K. Metcalf was shipped to the PIttsburgh Steelers in return for a 2nd Round selection and handed a 5-year, $150 million deal. Metcalf, who still does not know who will be throwing him passes next season, is joining up with George Pickens to form one of the best ‘potential’ WR rooms in the league, but potential personal issues could drive this group apart before it gets going.
Davante Adams | WR | Age 32 | Los Angeles Rams
Update 3/11: After getting a head start on picking his new team, Davante Adams is heading west on a two-year, $46 million deal with the Los Angeles Rams. Sliding into the spot that Cooper Kupp will be vacating, Adams will pair up with Puka Nacua to give Matthew Stafford another 1-2 punch at WR that will be tough to stop.
Deebo Samuel | WR | Age 29 | Washington Commanders
Update 3/8: Deebo Samuel was traded to the Washington Commanders, ending his six-year stint with the team that drafted him. Samuel joins a Washington receiver group led by Terry McLaurin but was desperately missing a WR2, a role that Samuel should thrive in.

Catching passes from Jayden Daniels and being utilized by offensive coordinator Kliff Kingsbury should improve Samuel’s value heading into next year, so start to sniff around and see what his value is in your leagues.
Christian Kirk | WR | Age 28 | Houston Texans
Update 3/8: Christian Kirk was shipped off to the Houston Texans in a deal for a 2026 7th rounder. Switching AFC South teams should improve Kirk’s value, as he will be joining a Houston offense that needs receiver depth behind Nico Collins. With both Stefon Diggs and Tank Dell slated to miss time next season, Kirk should slide into the WR2 role, catching passes from C.J. Stroud.
Cooper Kupp | WR | Age 31 | Los Angeles Rams
One of the best receivers in Los Angeles Rams’ history is likely on the move, with news breaking this week of Cooper Kupp likely wearing a new uniform next season. Kupp carries cap hits of $29.78 and $27.33 million across the next two seasons, so it looks to be a cost-savings move pushing the Rams in this direction.
Breaking: Rams WR Cooper Kupp has been informed that the team is seeking to trade him in the offseason, he announced on social media. pic.twitter.com/PBqb7MsIJb
— ESPN (@espn) February 4, 2025
Kupp still has some left in the tank, although injuries have kept him from playing more than 12 games in each of the past three seasons. With the Rams willing to take on some of his $7.5 million signing bonus to move him, expect a competitor like the Detroit Lions, Washington Commanders, Cincinnati Bengals, Minnesota Vikings, and even the Kansas City Chiefs to look at a potential deal.
Marquez Valdes-Scantling | Age 30 | Seattle Seahawks
Update 3/14: The Seattle Seahawks made a depth signing for their wide receiver room, adding Marquez Valdes-Scantling on a 1-year, $5.5-million deal.
Evan Engram | TE | Age 30 | Denver Broncos
Update 3/14: Sean Payton finally has his ‘Joker,’ as tight end Evan Engram joins the Denver Broncos on a 2-year, $23-million deal after being released by the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Update 3/8: The purge of the Jacksonville Jaguars hit the offense the hardest, as veteran tight end Evan Engram was released a few days before free agency opened. Having spent his past three seasons with the Jaguars, Engram now hits free agency as the top tight end available, and he should have no problem finding a new home.
Quarterbacks | 2025 Free Agency Tracker
Sam Darnold | QB1 | Age 27 | Seattle Seahawks
Update 3/11: Sam Darnold has found a new home, as the former first-overall selection signed a three-year deal with the Seattle Seahawks. While the offense looks like a shell of itself without both DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett, Darnold will be handed the keys for a deal that reaches the $100 million mark.

It was a reclamation year for Sam Darnold after joining the Minnesota Vikings on a one-year deal with low expectations. But when rookie J.J. McCarthy was ruled out for his rookie season with a meniscus injury, Darnold was thrust into the starting role for Minnesota.
Surprising most everyone, Darnold easily put together the best season of his career, finishing as the QB9 (PPG). He threw for over 4,300 yards with 35 touchdowns and 12 interceptions. He ran Kevin O’Connell’s offense well—until his disastrous Wild Card round.
Entering free agency on the heels of a nine-sack, two-turnover performance, Darnold likely cost himself some money. While he should have a good amount of suitors (plus a weak rookie QB class), Darnold is still the top quarterback available, both in the NFL and our Free Agency Tracker.
A reunion with the Vikings is still in the cards, although it would likely be another one-year deal or the franchise tag—both unlikely. Signing a long-term deal with a team that doesn’t draft a rookie QB like the New York Giants, Cleveland Browns, Tennessee Titans, or Las Vegas Raiders makes sense. A team that moves on from their starter like the New York Jets or New Orleans Saints would work, too.
Justin Fields | QB2 | Age 25 | New York Jets
Update 3/11: Just as the first shoe fell in the QB market, Justin Fields found his new team, signing a big-money deal with the New York Jets. Joining NYJ on a two-year, $40 million deal is quite the vote of approval from rookie head coach Aaron Glenn and the new staff, as they are making a big investment in a QB that has had an up-and-down start to his career.
After opening the season as the starter for the Pittsburgh Steelers, Justin Fields was replaced by Russell Wilson after starting the first six games. The former Bears draft pick signed a one-year deal to add some youth to the Pittsburgh QB room, and Fields looked pretty solid. But his contributions weren’t enough as Wilson was handed the keys, and the offense never looked back.
Fields didn’t prove enough in his limited starts this season to earn a comfy, long-term role, but his age and mobility should earn him another chance. The Steelers enjoyed his running abilities in Arthur Smith’s offense, so a return is still in the cards. However, he would be a nice fit with any of the QB-needy teams — both the Raiders and Giants higher on that list, putting him as the QB2 in our Free Agency Tracker.
Russell Wilson | QB3 | Age 36 | Pittsburgh Steelers
Wilson had some up-and-down moments with Pittsburgh this year, culminating in a disappointing playoff loss to the Baltimore Ravens. As the second-oldest player in our Free Agency Tracker, Wilson was added on a one-year deal to fight Fields for the starting job, with Wilson taking over in Week 7.

The 13-year veteran is in the twilight of his NFL career, having wrapped up this past season as the QB24. A team that thinks it can compete for a playoff spot next season, like the Jets or the Steelers, likely will kick the tires, or we could see a potential reunion with Pete Carroll if Wilson wants to head back to the AFC West to join the Raiders.
Drew Lock | QB4 | Age 28 | New York Giants
Now on his third career team, Drew Lock joined the Giants in the 2024 offseason in a maligned QB room. After the release of Daniel Jones, Lock made the most of his limited run, appearing in eight games and making five starts. Lock’s Week 17 performance over the Indianapolis Colts was his best game of the season, contributing five total TDs in the win.
Lock’s inclusion in write-up portion of Free Agency Tracker speaks to how light this position is on talent. This offseason is not one where you want to be a QB-needy team, which will work in Lock’s favor. Any team looking for a bridge quarterback as they transition to a rookie likely will be interested in Lock.

Zach Wilson | Signed a one-year, $7 million deal with MIA
Jacoby Brissett | Age 32 | New England Patriots
Trey Lance | Age 24 | Dallas Cowboys
Joe Flacco | Age 39 | Indianapolis Colts
Desmond Ridder | Age 25 | Las Vegas Raiders
Running Backs | 2025 Free Agency Tracker
Najee Harris | RB1 | Age 26 | Los Angeles Chargers
Updated 3/11: Congratulations Najee Harris, you have received probably the best landing spot possible. Joining a solid offense in the Chargers sets the table for Harris to put his uphill battles in Pittsburgh behind him, although he likely will need to be paired with a receiving back again.
You know what you’re getting with Najee Harris. He’s a downhill runner who doesn’t produce exciting stat lines but is a consistent option. Finishing his fourth year with the Steelers, Harris finished as the RB20 (PPG), running for 1,043 yards and 6 TDs. His receiving abilities improved from last year but weren’t heavily utilized due to Jaylen Warren’s involvement.
The jury is out on if Harris will remain with Pittsburgh, as the team didn’t pick up his fifth-year option. With the Steelers seemingly content rolling with Arthur Smith as their offensive coordinator, Harris fills the RB1 role well. While unspectacular, Harris is a consistent RB2 that headlines the running back position in our Free Agency Tracker.
Rico Dowdle | RB2 | Age 27 | Dallas Cowboys
Update 3/14: Rico Dowdle joins forces with Chuba Hubbard in the Carolina Panthers backfield, signing a 1-year deal worth up to $6.25 million. Dowdle’s fantasy value takes a hit as he won’t be have a backfield to himself next year, so his role looks a bit cloudy moving forward.

Rico Dowdle stepped into the starting role for the Dallas Cowboys this past season, finishing as the RB23 (PPG), rushing for over 1,000 yards. His 39 receptions helped keep him relevant in PPR formats too, as he was the clear lead back all year.
With Dallas likely looking to the 2025 NFL Draft for their new starter, Dowdle probably will head elsewhere. Teams like Cleveland, Las Vegas, and Minnesota (depending on how they handle Aaron Jones and Cam Akers) could be interested. With fewer than 400 carries under his belt, there looks to be plenty of tread left on the tires here, contributing to Dowdle’s RB2 spot in our Free Agency Tracker.
J.K. Dobbins | RB3 | Age 26 | Los Angeles Chargers
J.K. Dobbins found a much-deserved resurgence in 2024, as the Los Angeles Chargers running back produced the best season of his career. Rushing for 905 yards and racking up 1,058 total yards, Dobbins found the end zone 9 times this past season, all on the ground. Injuries still impacted Dobbins as he missed four games due to an ankle injury, but his knee held up — a great sign for his NFL future.
An oft-injured running back typically scares teams away, but Dobbins’ bounceback season could make him a hot commodity this offseason. With the top-heavy RB landscape in the NFL Draft, Dobbins should be able to angle for a starting role. The Chargers should want him back as their RB1 as Gus Edwards and Kimani Vidal are not enough to hold down the LAC backfield.
Aaron Jones | RB4 | Age 30 | Minnesota Vikings
Updated 3/11: Aaron Jones is back with the Minnesota Vikings, signing a 2-year deal for $20 million. While QB questions still linger, Minnesota has their starting RB locked in for at least another season. While a two-year deal on paper, the structure of the contract is really a one-year deal for Jones, who has no guaranteed money in his second year until the start of the new league year.
Aaron Jones traded green for purple this offseason, joining the Vikings on a one-year deal. As the starter, Jones rushed for over 1,100 yards, crossed the 400-yard receiving mark, and scored 7 TDs. This was a career best for the eight-year pro, who looked solid in Kevin O’Connell’s offense.
Even with Cam Akers and Ty Chandler factoring in, Jones racked up 306 touches and had a heavy workload. While he is not as fast or athletic as he used to be, Jones still has a good amount left in the tank. A return to Minnesota is still on the table. Outside of the Vikings, Jones could latch onto several teams on a one-year deal. Minnesota and Dallas offer the best fits at this point in his career.
Jaylen Warren | RB5 | Age 26 | Pittsburgh Steelers
Warren played second fiddle behind Harris this year, missing 2 games on his way to finishing as the RB39 (PPG). Unfortunately, Warren took big steps back in both the rushing and receiving areas as he also missed two games due to a knee injury. Warren checks in as the RB5 in our Free Agency Tracker.

Warren is the same age as Harris but might be in higher demand based on how his skill set leans towards the receiving game. With the modern-day NFL RB needing to be a good pass catcher, Warren fills the role of a glue guy extremely well — which should jump out to a few teams this offseason.
Javonte Williams | RB6 | Age 24 | Denver Broncos
In an effort to replace Rico Dowdle, the Dallas Cowboys added Javonte Williams on a one-year, $3 million deal. Williams, who was essentially shown the door by the Denver Broncos this offseason, is the lead man in charge of the backfield for the Cowboys, who will likely add a rookie in the draft to pair up with the veteran.
The running-back-by-committee approach from the Denver Broncos tanked Javonte Williams’ stock this season as he became the odd man most weeks. While salvaging his value through the passing game, Williams hits free agency at only 24 years old. While likely not signing somewhere for a starting gig, Williams is one of the youngest backs on the market with starting experience.
The ship has likely sailed for his time in Denver, as he will be looking for a new home. His best attribute was on full display this past season, as he caught 52 passes for 346 yards on 70 targets. Williams would be best served to sign a one-year deal with a competitor (Chiefs, Vikings, Rams) to recapture his value and hit free agency again next offseason in search of a long-term home.
Nick Chubb | RB7 | Age 29 | Cleveland Browns
After only suiting up for eight games this past season, Nick Chubb hits free agency with a ton of uncertainty surrounding his future. With his season ending early with a broken foot, Chubb’s tenure with the Cleveland Browns may have drawn to an unceremonious end. While racking up double-digit carries in six of eight games, Chubb never ran for more than 59 yards in a game and only caught 5 passes.
Gone are the days of his RB1 production, but what Chubb brings to the table moving forward remains a mystery. With the likes of D’Onta Foreman, Jerome Ford, Pierre Strong, and others on the roster at RB, Chubb returning on a one-year deal is tough to forecast. A team that wants a part-time bruiser at RB could be interested in Chubb on a cheap deal, but retirement could be an option for Chubb as well — even though no reports have linked him towards hanging up his cleats.
Cam Akers | RB8 | Age 25 | Minnesota Vikings
Acquired in October from the Houston Texans, Akers was brought in due to his familiarity to Kevin O’Connell’s offense. While serving as Jones’ backup, Akers averaged around six touches per game, capping any fantasy value he has. Only 25 years young, Akers logged 6 games of 8+ plus targets this season, turning in RB49 (PPG) numbers.
It’s tough to see much more than this type of backup role for Akers as his lack of work doesn’t make him stand out in this FA class. A return to Minnesota on a one-year deal makes sense for Akers, who does bring solid handcuff value if playing behind Jones or a different RB1. Akers clocks in as the RB8 in our Free Agency Tracker.

Wide Receivers | 2025 Free Agency Tracker
Tee Higgins | WR1 | Age 25 | Cincinnati Bengals
Updated 3/11: The Cincinnati Bengals have officially placed the franchise tag on receiver Tee Higgins, handing him a one-year deal for the second-consecutive season. Negotiations continue between both parties for a long-term deal, but it’s safe to say that the prognosis of Higgins actually having his price tag met on an extension remains unlikely.

The cream of the crop at wide receiver is Tee Higgins, who kicks off the wide receiver group in our Free Agency Tracker. Higgins is hitting free agency after finishing as the WR17 this past year. As he teamed up with Ja’Marr Chase and Joe Burrow, Higgins had his moments of being the forgotten man, but put up 9 double-digit games in the 12 he suited up for. Injuries kept Higgins out for a stretch of two and three games, respectively, but when he was on the field, he was a key part of the Cincinnati Bengals offense.
If Burrow and Chase have their ways, Higgins will remain with the team for at least next season. But money talks and there will be plenty of it thrown at Higgins. He should see a lot of interest across the board. Rumors surrounding the Green Bay Packers’ interest in Higgins have already begun, so there will be a lot of suitors targeting Higgins this offseason.
Update 2/25: The offseason for Higgins is heating up, with reports that the Cincinnati Bengals are planning on franchise tagging the non-Ja’marr Chase WR in their league-leading duo.
Cincinnati is likely buying themselves more time for a long-term deal by potentially handing Higgins the tag, but this could also pave the way for a potential trade—if the Bengals decide they don’t want to fork over close to $100 million for a long-term deal with Higgins.
Chris Godwin | WR2 | Age 28 | Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Updated 3/11: Chris Godwin turned down an additional $20 million from the New England Patriots on his way to re-upping with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, locking in a three-year, $66 million deal. For Godwin, his comfort level of remaining with the team that drafted him keeps him in the NFC South for another three years, keeping a top target for Baker Mayfield and Mike Evans’ long-time running mate.
A hot start was unfairly cooled off by a season-ending ankle injury suffered in Week 7 as Chris Godwin played fewer than half the games this past season. Godwin re-signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on a one-year deal last offseason, Godwin enters free agency again with questions about his health moving forward.
Six of seven games this past season saw Godwin catch seven or more passes. He had at least 1 touchdown or 60 receiving yards in each contest. A lot of playoff teams will likely be targeting Godwin, but he could remain with Tampa Bay due to their cap sheet being relatively clean. If Gidwin leaves, teams like the Buffalo Bills, Houston Texans, and Kansas City Chiefs could be looking to add him as he is the best slot receiver available in Free Agency.
Update 2/25: Tampa Bay seem destined to keep Godwin, as rumors have been floating about a potential extension for the former Penn State wideout. Having agreed to push the void date of his current contract back almost a month (to March 12), this buys both parties more time to work on a deal.
All signs are pointing to Godwin remaining with the NFC South champions, which will provide a nice boost to his dynasty stock.
Keenan Allen | WR3 | Age 32 | Chicago Bears
While a far cry from his time with the Chargers, Keenan Allen strung together a fairly-consistent season in his first one with the Chicago Bears. As he finished as the WR34 (PPG), Allen scored 7 touchdowns and hauled in 70 passes for 744 yards as he battled through an early-season injury. Behind D.J. Moore on the depth chart, Allen and rookie Rome Odunze fought through some inconsistent play from rookie QB Caleb Williams to wrap up his first season in the NFC.
With Moore and Odunze as the future 1-2 combo in Chicago, Allen is the odd man out and likely will head elsewhere this offseason. It’s hard to know how much longer Allen will be in the league, but another two or three seasons feels like a safe bet. A team like the Steelers or Commanders who are in search of a WR2 could look at Allen (as could the Cowboys) as he finds himself as the WR3 in our Free Agency Tracker.
Stefon Diggs | WR4 | Age 31 | Houston Texans
Stefon Diggs tore his ACL back in Week 8, putting him on the shelf for a long time as he enters Free Agency. In his first year with Houston, Diggs looked like the missing piece in the Texans offense, as he and C.J. Stroud developed a strong connection early on. In all eight games, Diggs earned at least six targets, averaging just under six receptions per game.

A potential return to the Texans is in the realm of possibilities for Diggs, who likely will be looking for another one-year deal as he gets healthy. Diggs’ ceiling is as an WR2 at this point in his career, but his injury will make his explosion and athleticism tougher to predict for his next contract.
DeAndre Hopkins | WR5 | Age 32 | Baltimore Ravens
Update 3/14: The Baltimore Ravens are having a go at signing a veteran receiver again, bringing in former Kansas City Chiefs wideout DeAndre Hopkins on a 1-year, $6-million deal.
As the de facto WR1 for the Chiefs, DeAndre Hopkins joined the top seed in the AFC mid-season after a trade with the Tennessee Titans. The 32-year-old played in 16 games this year for only the second time in the past five seasons, maybe showing that the vet might have a bit left to give. Hopkins hauled in 56 passes for 610 yards and 5 scores as he found the end zone once every 9 catches or so.
Hopkins still has WR2 appeal for teams looking for wideouts, and your dynasty roster could benefit from having a veteran like him around. With a bit of uncertainty surrounding Rashee Rice’s future, Hopkins could be back with KC on a one-year deal. More likely, Hopkins goes and chases the money in what could be his final chance, even if it is a one-year deal on a non-competitive team.
Amari Cooper | WR6 | Age 30 | Buffalo Bills
As a mid-season acquisition, Amari Cooper joined the Bills in hopes of filling the WR1 role vacated when Diggs was traded. But Cooper filled the role more of a WR3 unfortunately as the 10-year vet was not heavily incorporated into the offense. In 8 games with the Bills, Cooper caught 20 passes for 297 yards and 2 TDs — disappointing numbers across the board.
Cooper’s role for your dynasty football roster is not super clear, as his past provides a much rosier look into his floor and ceiling than his future. As he likely will have a short list of interested teams this offseason, Cooper will likely need to settle for a one-year deal with a team as he looks to put his 2024 season behind him.
Elijah Moore | WR7 | Age 24 | Cleveland Browns
The youngest player in the WR section of our Free Agency Tracker is Cleveland’s Elijah Moore, who was the forgotten target in the Browns muddied offense. Fourth on the pecking order behind Jerry Jeudy, David Njoku, and Cedric Tillman, Moore enters free agency on the heels of a 102-target season but only 61 receptions.
As he enters free agency for the first time, Moore should see his fair share of interested teams. Not often does a 24-year-old slot guy hit free agency after 2, 100-plus target seasons (even with unimpressive numbers). Moore would be my pick to be handed the most surprising contract of the WR group this offseason, even if he isn’t really deserving of one. Based on age alone, Moore holds WR3 value for your dynasty roster moving forward.
Brandin Cooks | WR8 | Age 31 | Dallas Cowboys
It was two forgetful years in Dallas for Brandin Cooks, who enters free agency after having had two void years tacked onto his current deal. Cooks, who filled the WR2 role for Dallas, struggled to stay healthy this past season — only suiting up in 10 games. This past year was Cooks’ worst NFL season, only hauling in 26 receptions for 259 yards and 3 TDs.
It’s tough to see Cooks making a big impact in his next contract as he is more of a WR3/4. Whether it is in Dallas or elsewhere, don’t count on a big impact from the 11-year pro.

Tight Ends | 2025 Free Agency Tracker
Mike Gesicki | TE1 | Age 29 | Cincinnati Bengals
Updated 3/11: In an offseason where CIN decided to hand out contracts to everyone but their stars, tight end Mike Gesicki earned a nice payday by signing a three-year, $25.5 million deal to remain with the Bengals. Easily the third target in the offense, Gesicki was surprisingly handed a bag this offseason as the best tight end on the market, and he didn’t have to look elsewhere to get it.
Mike Gesicki is looking to cash in after a strong year with the Bengals, hauling in 65 passes for 665 yards and 2 scores. Kicking off the tight end group in our Free Agency Tracker, Gesicki managed to earn 83 targets even with playing third fiddle behind Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins.
While the rookie class of TE’s is strong, Gesicki is the cream of the veteran crop this offseason. Gesicki will likely get a few looks from competitors looking to find a proven vet in free agency. Teams like the Broncos, Chargers, Rams and Seahawks (or a reunion with the Bengals) are all possibilities.
Juwan Johnson | TE2 | Age 28 | New Orleans Saints
Update 3/14: Tight end Juwan Johnson remains with the New Orleans Saints, as he signed a 3-year deal worth $30.75 million to be the team’s TE1.

Juwan Johnson set career marks in most offensive categories as he was a beneficiary of the inconsistent Saints offense. He earned 66 targets, hauling in 50 for 548 yards and 3 TDs (career bests in receptions and yards).
Johnson will likely be the second choice for teams that don’t sign Gesicki as Johnson won’t break the bank. Johnson could land anywhere as he would fit with any of the teams considering Gesicki, but probably will also be a target for up-and-coming squads too.
Zach Ertz | TE3 | Age 34 | Washington Commanders
Updated 3/11: Zach Ertz pushed off retirement for another year, as he re-signed with the Washington Commanders on a one-year, $6.25 million deal.
Zach Ertz’ 2024 season has been a blast from the past as the 12-year vet finished as the TE7 (PPG) catching passes from Jayden Daniels. As the rookie’s safety valve, Ertz produced 66 receptions for 654 yards and 7 TDs on 91 targets. He was essentially the WR2 for the Washington Commanders.
Ertz reuniting with Kliff Kingsbury helped reunite the tight end with an offensive coordinator that loves to utilize him, propping up his value heading into free agency. While likely nearing retirement, Ertz should have his fair share of options to choose from, which will include returning to Washington.

JJ McCarthy did NOT have an ACL injury. It was a meniscus tear that required a full repair.
