The Dynasty Nerds writers are here to provide you with weekly start/sit advice all season long. We will be making our recommendations based on weekly consensus PPR rankings. Here is the Week 10 Tight End Start/Sit from Senior Nerd Steven Pintado.
One thing to keep in mind when making your tight end start/sit decisions; it will ALWAYS depend on who your other options are. Don’t take the players below out of (or put them into) your lineup unless the alternatives are worth it.
NOTE: Rankings are sourced from FantasyPros expert consensus expert rankings (ECR) and our terminology is for a 12-team PPR league. So, saying TE2 means top 24, or TE1 means top 12, etc.

Week 10 Tight End start/SIT
Sam LaPorta | Detroit Lions | TE 10
Week 9 Stats | TE30 | FPts 4.8 | Tgts 3 | Rec 2 | Yds 28 | Confidence 60%
Our tight end sit of the week is Sam LaPorta. It has been a while since we’ve said LaPorta is a set-it-and-forget-it player. We tried to give LaPorta a chance during Jameson Williams‘ suspension, but it was an uneven stretch of performances. Now that Williams is back on the field, LaPorta’s targets should be limited in Week 10.
The matchup with the Texans will be difficult as they are an elite unit versus tight ends. The Texans have allowed just one tight end to produce over 40 yards this year. LaPorta hasn’t been a strong target option in fantasy, and we’ve seen that with just one game over three targets in the last four weeks.
Week 10 Tight End START/sit
Dallas Goedert | Philadelphia Eagles | TE 20
Week 9 Stats | Did Not Play | Confidence 78%
Dallas Goedert is returning from a three-game absence due to an injury. Goedert has practiced in-full this week, indicating he’ll join the offense back on the field. Goedert played solid football, averaging 13.5 fantasy points per game in PPR leagues. He makes his return to a fantastic matchup against a struggling Cowboys defense. They have allowed four touchdowns to the positions over the last 4 weeks.
In 2 of the previous 3 games, Dallas has given up over 50 yards to an opposing tight end. Goedert could see a target increase with AJ Brown banged up from Week 9. Goedert has a history of performing better when one of Brown or Devonta Smith misses a game or is banged up. If you have been holding Goedert through this injury, it is time to get him back into your starting lineups for Week 10.
Streamer | Week 10 Tight End START/sit
Theo Johnson | New York Giants | TE 21
Week 9 Stats | TE7 | FPts 14.1 | Tgts 5 | Rec 3 | Yds 51 | 1 TD | Confidence 55%
Theo Johnson is our streamer for the Week 10 Tight End Start/Sit. The rookie tight end is coming off his best game of the season, where he finished with a career-high 14 fantasy points. Johnson will get the best matchup of the weekend in the Carolina Panthers. They have allowed the most fantasy points per game to fantasy tight ends this year with 12.4.
According to Data Nerd Brad Custer, Carolina gives up 61% more expected points on average to the TE position (POSMA). Johnson could see an increase in targets as Darius Slayton will miss this game due to an injury. He has been averaging five targets per game coming into Week 10. Johnson should be in lineups if you are at all uncomfortable with your tight end situation.

Spotlight | Week 10 Tight End START/sit
Taysom Hill | New Olreans Saints | TE 13
Week 9 Stats | TE5 | FPts 16 | Tgts 5 | Rec 4 | Yds 41 | Att 5 | Yds 19 | 1 TD | Confidence 70%
Our spotlight tight end is a unique player in Taysom Hill. As we all know, Taysom Hill is a Swiss army knife of a player in this Saints offense. Hill hasn’t played a lot this season as he has dealt with injuries. Since returning to the field in Week 8, he had games of 6 and 14 points. Hill’s best ability is being used as a runner when the Saints get to the endzone, which boosts a typical TE upside.
The Saints struggle with depth behind Alvin Kamara, with Jamaal Williams banging down and Kendre Miller back on IR. Hill has five carries in three of his five games played. His matchups against the Falcons are favorable, as they are in the bottom ten in stopping fantasy tight ends. The Falcons have allowed over 40 yards to a tight end in 5 straight games. Hill is a wildcard player, but with four teams on BYE, he may be a Hill worth dying on.
Redemption | Week 10 Tight End START/sit
Dalton Kincaid | Buffalo Bills | TE 7
Week 9 Stats | TE20 | FPts 7.2 | Tgts 10 | Rec 4 | Yds 32 | Confidence 80%
Our redemption tight end this week is Dalton Kincaid. The 2nd-year tight end is coming off an average outing where he finished with 10 targets but only had 4 receptions. He’ll get a matchup against the Colts, who ranked 6th in fantasy points per game to tight ends. The Colts have allowed mediocre tight end production in the last three weeks. Jonnu Smith, Dalton Schultz, and Josh Oliver all finished with 50 receiving yards and 2 scored touchdowns.
Kincaid should continue to see a high target share in this matchup as receivers Amari Cooper is banged up and Keon Coleman is OUT for Week 10. This should force Josh Allen to lean on his young tight end in a good matchup. If you have been upset with his inconsistent production, expect him to bounce back in Week 10.
