Hey Nerds! The wait is finally over and Week 1 of the NFL season is in the books. After an exciting week of football, some preseason fantasy questions have been answered while others have more clarity. In this article, we dive into some Stock Up and Stock Down players from Week 1.
STOCK UP
ISAIAH LIKELY📈 | 17.1 FPPG | TE1 FPPG | Dynasty Nerds Overall #140 | Current Value – Early 2025 Second
Isaiah Likely has been well-known among the dynasty community since entering the NFL. Likely has had fantasy success in the past but it occurred when his teammate Mark Andrews was out of the lineup due to injury. While Head Coach John Harbaugh hinted in the offseason at an increase in Likely’s production, very few expected his Week 1 performance. Likely led the team in targets (12), receptions (9), and receiving yards (11) and did this with Andrews playing. Likely appears to be a critical part of the Ravens offense moving forward.
BAKER MAYFIELD 📈| 29.7 FPPG | QB2 FPPG | Dynasty Nerds Overall #86 | Current Value – 2025 1st and 2025 2nd
On a recent Dynasty Nerds podcast only available for the #nerdherd, Garret Price and Rich Dotson debated their individual rankings of Baker Mayfield. Rich viewed Mayfield as a great QB2 option while one of Garret’s concerns for Mayfield was the departure of Dave Canales as offensive coordinator and how that would affect Mayfield. It appears that Mayfield is going to be just fine after finishing the week in fantasy points per game as QB2 behind only Josh Allen.
J.K. DOBBINS 📈| 29.7 FPPG | RB3 FPPG | Dynasty Nerds Overall #171 | Current Value – 2025 2nd
Going into the season, fantasy managers had questions on how both J.K. Dobbins and Gus Edwards would perform in this new look Chargers offense. Dobbins shined in his Chargers debut rushing for 135 yards and a touchdown. Dobbins out-snapped his backfield teammate Gus Edwards and proved to be the more efficient back. If fully healthy, the talent gap between Dobbins and Edwards isn’t close.
STOCK DOWN
JAHAN DOTSON 📉
Just before the start of the 2024 NFL season, Jahan Dotson was traded to the Philadelphia Eagles, leaving many fantasy managers with questions on what to expect from Dotson moving forward. If you read fellow Dynasty Nerds Writer Matthew Mitchell’s article, you would know that being traded to the Eagles destroyed Dotson’s fantasy value. In his first game with the Eagles, Dotson was on the field for 42% of the Eagles offensive plays while running 24 routes resulting in 0 receptions on 1 target.
ROSCHON JOHNSON 📉
Any hopes of Johnson growing into a larger role in the Chicago Bears offense were halted when Chicago announced Johnson as a healthy inactive before their Week 1 matchup with the Tennessee Titans. Chicago chose to go with a gameday roster of D’Andre Swift, Khalil Herbert, and Travis Homer. While there is still hope for Johnson, this does hurt the dynasty value of the second-year back moving forward.
COLE KMET 📉
The preseason rumblings of Cole Kmet’s role being diminished appear to be true. In a game where Chicago trailed for much of the game, Kmet had 1 target and was only on the field for 48% of the team’s snaps. Gerald Everett, who was an off-season signing of the Bears, was on the field for 61% of the team’s snaps. Everett’s usage is clearly going to be a problem for Kmet moving forward.
