PLAYER VALUE CHANGES in STOCK UP/STOCK DOWN after Week 2

It's time to make a trade! Don't miss out on the values @dynastydadmike found to improve your dynasty rosters before Week 3; one may even be on waivers.

Hey Nerds! Week 2 of the NFL season is in the books. After an exciting week of football, some players’ stock has risen due to injury opportunities while others have fallen due to their performance. In this article, we dive into some “stock up” and “stock down” players from Week 2. (Incase you missed Week 1.)

Derek Carr 📈 | 22.1 FPPG | QB2 FPPG | Dynasty Nerds Overall #155 | Current Value – Late 2025 1st

Hopefully, you read my Fantasy Forecast article regarding the New Orleans Saints and have already been able to trade for Derek Carr. After finishing Week 1 with a QB6 finish (fppg) against the Carolina Panthers, many thought Carr would stumble going into Week 2 against a tougher Dallas Cowboys defense. Carr did the opposite, throwing for 243 yards and 2 touchdowns on just 16 passing attempts. Carr is currently tied for first in passing touchdowns (5) with Stock Up alumnist Baker Mayfield. Carr appears to be very comfortable in Klint Kubiak’s offense.

Jordan Mason📈| 19.8 FPPG | RB7 FPPG| Dynasty Nerds Overall #215| Current Value – Early 2025 Second

The injury reports coming in for Christian McCaffrey only seem to get worse. McCaffrey has been placed on the injured reserve and it appears that a six week absence is a strong possibility. With aspirations of a SuperBowl run, San Francisco should have no intentions to rush McCaffrey back. In his absence, Jordan Mason has dominated the touches for San Francisco. Mason will rank as a high-end RB1 for as long as McCaffrey is on the sidelines.

Mike Gesicki 📈 | 10.5 FPPG | TE1 FPPG | Dynasty Nerds Overall #232 | Current Value – 2025 Mid 2nd

Mike Gesicki signed a one-year contract with the Bengals in the offseason which did not garner much talk amongst the dynasty community unless you were Rich Dotson. Rich was a fan of the landing spot and thought Gesicki could return some fantasy value after a dreadful season in New England. After Week 2, Gesicki leads the team in targets (13), receiving yards (107), and is tied for the lead in receptions (10). While these numbers should scale back when Tee Higgins returns to the lineup, Gesicki is currently on pace for 85 receptions and should be looked at as a viable fantasy starter.

Quarterback Stock Down

Deshaun Watson 📉 | 14.1 FPPG | QB14  FPPG | Dynasty Nerds Overall #112 | Current Value – 2025 Late 2nd

Another week brings another lawsuit against Deshaun Watson. Reports have come out from The Athletic’s Diani Russini that Watson’s contract has language in it that would allow the Browns to void his guaranteed money if the NFL finds the newest lawsuit against him credible. This is a huge out for the Cleveland Browns considering Watson’s play has dropped drastically since his tenure with the Houston Texans. Since joining the Browns, Watson has thrown 15 touchdowns, 11 interceptions, and is a shell of the player that he once was.

Curtis Samuel 📉 | 2.4 FPPG | WR99  FPPG | Dynasty Nerds Overall #208 | Current Value – 2025 Early 4th

The hopes and dreams of fantasy managers who drafted Curtis Samuel believing that he would be a top receiver for the Bills appear to be shattering. After averaging 27% of the team’s snaps through Week 2, Samuel appears to be fourth in the wide receiver pecking order. Samuel’s 2.4 fppg ranks only ahead of Marquez Valdes-Scantling.

Cade Otton📉 | 0.6 FPPG | TE70  FPPG | Dynasty Nerds Overall #194 | Current Value – 2025 Early 4th

We are now two weeks into the NFL season, and Cade Otton has been a non-factor in Liam Coen’s offense. Currently, Otton is ranked 5th on the Buccaneers in targets (4), tied for 6th in receptions (1), and 7th in receiving yards (5). While Otton never offered true TE1 upside, he had been a reliable TE2 option, but that isn’t feasible moving forward.
