Ollie Gordon II | Player Introduction
One of the biggest surprises of the 2024 NFL Draft was the absence of Ollie Gordon II. After a monster season, he elected to put off the NFL for one more season and return to the Oklahoma State Cowboys. In 2023, Gordon rushed for 1,732 yards and 21 TDs on 285 carries while adding another 330 yards and a score on 39 receptions.
He won the Doak Walker and Earl Campbell awards, was unanimously named All-American and first team All-Big 12, while winning the Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year and finishing 7th in Heisman voting. Gordon came back to improve on those numbers but instead virtually cut them in half. His 2024 season was lackluster, rushing for 880 yards and 13 TDs. The former 4-star recruit from Texas bet on himself, but didn’t come out on top.

No. 21 Overall Prospect | Ranked as RB7
As a fluid, downhill runner, Ollie Gordon II is coming off a subpar junior season after a breakout sophomore campaign. Gordon ran for 1,732 yards and 21 touchdowns that season, hauling in another 39 passes for 300 yards and a score. The downtick in his performance is concerning, as it points to a potential flash in the pan career for Gordon. He has a pro-ready skillset that sets him up well for the next level, but the question still remains if he can put it all together in the NFL—I’m betting he can.

No. 27 Overall Prospect | Ranked as RB13
One of the top college running backs last season, Ollie Gordon’s production plummeted this season as the Oklahoma State offense simply could not get out of their own way. Which Ollie Gordon will we get in the NFL? With size, speed, and explosiveness, he is one of the more intriguing prospects in this draft. With a Senior Bowl invite, Gordon will have the chance to regain value both for NFL scouts and the dynasty draft community.

No. 32 Overall Prospect | Ranked as RB14
Ollie Gordon is one of the most physical runners you will ever watch. He routinely bullies defenders and imposes his will on the field. If he had come out last year, he would have been one of the top running backs in the class. But he took a big dive in efficiency, dropping 1.5 yards per carry. At this point of the draft I am willing to gamble that the right coach could bring that 2023 beast back to the forefront.

No. 8 Overall Running Back
There’s really only one question for Oklahoma State’s Ollie Gordon II. Is he more like the 2023 or 2024 version of himself? If we get the explosive back from 2023, he’ll be one of the steals of the 2025 NFL Draft. If we get the 2024 version, he’s probably going to struggle. I’m very interested to see how Gordon runs after weighing in at 233 pounds at the Senior Bowl. For a back of this size, Gordon is incredibly elusive. His range of outcomes is among the biggest in the class.
Ollie Gordon II | Draft Outlook
The range of outcomes for Ollie Gordon’s NFL draft capital is vast. If a team looks at him and thinks they can get the 2023 version of him on the field, he could as early as Day 2 of the NFL Draft. However, if teams are worried about what they saw in 2024, he could fall into the 5th or 6th Round. For fantasy, Gordon can be a value pick in the middle rounds. However, if he ends up getting drafted on Day 2, you’ll likely need to spend early 3rd round capital to select him.
