NFL Preseason Week Three: Three Takeaways From NFC Teams

NFL Preseason is in the books! @DanT_NFL is here with the final edition of preseason takeaways. Here is coverage of the NFC.

NFL Preseason Week Three is in the books! All 32 clubs across the league were in action the past few days. Even the most dedicated football fan would have difficulty watching every game. Add in the fact that many of our usual starters were sitting, and it becomes near impossible to keep up with all that has happened. Here at Dynasty Nerds, we have you covered! Here are the three key takeaways from the NFC after the final week of preseason action.

Justin Fields Looking Good

Justin Fields had his best preseason game Saturday night in a 21-20 victory over the Cleveland Browns. The second-year Bears quarterback is already at a crossroads in his career playing for a team that might be bad enough to land them a top-two pick in next year’s draft. With such a strong quarterback class coming in 2023, Fields must show sufficient skill this season to convince new Chicago GM Ryan Poles that he deserves a third season. His rushing upside alone makes him fantasy viable as a QB2 with upside QB1 spike weeks.

Brian Robinson Unfortunate Events

News broke late Sunday night that Commanders’ rookie running back Brian Robinson Jr. was involved in a shooting during an attempted robbery. The rookie from Alabama suffered non-life threatening injuries to his lower extremities. Robinson will recover; however, there is no current timeline for his return to the football field. Antonio Gibson was a player many fantasy players were fading before this news, but he now seems set up to get the majority of the rushing work in Washington.

Geno Smith QB1 In Seattle

Geno Smith has been named the starting quarterback for the Seattle Seahawks. He will lead the team on the field in Week One as they take on the Denver Broncos on Monday Night Football. Drew Lock came down with COVID before Seattle’s Week Two preseason game, and in his limited action, this preseason has looked terrible. Including a game where he threw three interceptions. This Seattle team is on the fast track to a top-three pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, and Geno should be viewed as a one-year starter at best. In a dynasty, sell while you still have a chance.

NFL Preseason has concluded! The regular season is almost here! The following week will fly by, and next week, we will be previewing Week 1 Thursday Night Football. Dynasty managers must stay updated with all the news and notes emerging. This week will be your final chance to scoop these players off waivers as you push for a fantasy football championship.
