Jaylin Noel | Player Introduction
Iowa State isn’t necessarily known for having elite NFL prospects, but Jaylin Noel is out to change that. Despite being a 3-star recruit out of high school, Noel had offers from Vanderbilt, Washington State, and Nebraska, among others. He chose the Cyclones and made his imprint on their record books. By the end of his time in Ames, IA, Noel had the 2nd-most receptions (245), 3rd-most receiving yards (2,855), and 4th-most receiving TDs (18) in program history. He earned Second Team All-Big 12 honors in 2023 and was honorable mention in 2024, his best season (80/1,194/8).
Where Jaylin Noel really garnered national attention was during the NFL Combine this year where he posted a 4.39s 40-yard dash (9th), 41.5” vertical (T1), 11’2” broad jump (1st), 6.82s 3-cone drill (T5), 4.17s in the short shuttle (5th), and 23 reps on the bench press (1st).

Similar to Jayden Higgins, Jaylin Noel leaves Iowa State for the NFL on a bit of an offseason hype train. There is plenty to like about Noel, as he was split out in different roles with the Cyclones. Check out Noel’s speed to see what makes him a dangerous weapon at the next level.
Tristan Cook’s Pre-NFL Combine WR Rankings
Ranked WR19 Overall
Jaylin Noel is elusive with the ball in his hands. He uses elite short-area quickness and route running skills to create separation against both man and zone defenses. After having a relatively quiet college career, Noel broke out in 2024. My main area of concern is his hands. He has the second-biggest hand size of all receivers at the Senior Bowl, so perhaps it’s an issue of technique and concentration. If he cleans that up, he could become a weapon out of the slot.

Garret Price in the Latest 1QB Rookie Mock
Selected 3.06 | Drafted as WR11
Jaylin Noel is one of the most explosive playmakers in this class. He’s a dynamic slot receiver with elite short-area quickness, sharp route-running, and an ability to create yards after the catch. While he’s not the biggest receiver, his agility and change-of-direction skills make him a nightmare in space. He’s also a reliable target, showing strong hands and the ability to make tough grabs in traffic.
His NFL success will depend on landing in a scheme that maximizes his skill set. If used creatively—jet sweeps, quick screens, and underneath routes—he can be a high-volume target and a key piece in an offense. I expect late Day 2 draft capital, and if he finds the right fit, he could outperform many players taken ahead of him.
Jaylin Noel | Draft Outlook
After the outstanding NFL Combine performance, Jaylin Noel is rising up draft boards. He entered the pre-draft process with hopes of being considered on Day 2 of the draft and now that seems like a near certainty. If Noel gets drafted on Day 2, he creep into the 3rd round of rookie drafts. Right now, because of the depth at RB and WR, Noel is probably a better value in the 4th round.
