Hey Nerds! After an exciting start to the season, some players’ fantasy stock is on the rise due to increased performance, injury opportunities, or recent trades. Meanwhile, others’ have fallen due to poor performance, injuries, or recent trades. In this article, we dive into some fantasy trade advice for the top player targets heading into Week 8 of the 2024 NFL season.
Fantasy Trade Advice | Players To Trade For
Hunter Henry | Nerds #221 📈 | 9.2 FPPG | TE10 FPPG | 2025 Mid 2nd
In honor of National Tight End Day (October 27th), Hunter Henry leads off this article on players you should be trying to acquire on your fantasy rosters. Since Drake Maye has taken over under center for the Patriots, Henry has seen a team-high 14 targets. Hunter Henry has turned those targets into TE7 and TE4 finishes.
Hopefully, you followed the advice of Steven Pintado’s Week 7 tight end start/sit article and started Henry. His performances cannot go unnoticed in the desolate landscape of the tight end position.
Fantasy Trade Advice | Players to Trade For
Evan Engram | Nerds #114 📈 | 9.4 FPPG | TE9 FPPG | 2025 Early 2nd
Evan Engram continues to impress since joining the Jacksonville Jaguars. Since joining the Jacksonville Jaguars, Engram has had 14 TE1 finishes. People forget that Engram was the original “athletic TE prospect” that paved the way for T.J. Hockenson and Kyle Pitts.
Since returning from his hamstring injury, Engram has led the team in targets (15) and receiving yards (137) in 2024. Engram remains one of Trevor Lawrence’s favorite targets and will continue to be productive in the Jacksonville offense. It’s hard to find consistency at tight end, but Engram is one of the few.
Fantasy Trade Advice | Players You Want to Trade Away
Jameis Winston | Nerds N/A 📈 | 1.9 FPPG | QB47 FPPG | Any 2025 2nd
The fantasy roller coaster known as the Jameis Winston experience is back. Deshaun Watson was carted off the field with an Achilles injury, and backup quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson was also injured, allowing Winston to come into the game.
Winston entered the game with under four minutes left, leading the Browns for a touchdown drive. Jameis Winston showed the Browns management what fantasy managers already knew—he is the best quarterback in Cleveland. Winston’s aggressive mindset makes him a valuable trade piece to a quarterback-needy fantasy team.
Fantasy Trade Advice | Players You Need to Trade Away
Christian Kirk | Nerds #129 📉 | 9.0 FPPG | WR53 FPPG | 2025 3rd
Through 8 weeks of the 2024 NFL season, Christian Kirk appears to be the odd man out in the Jacksonville offense. Kirk is clearly behind rookie wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr. and Evan Engram for targets. Kirk has failed to have a 100-yard performance and was held to just one reception in 3 contests this season.
Kirk has been a rumored name on the NFL trade market. Unfortunately, his 4-year $72-million contract might limit potential suitors. If his name starts circling in the trade rumor mills, don’t be hesitant to move him for a 3rd if needed.
Fantasy Trade Advice | Players You Need to Trade Away
Calvin Ridley | Nerds #143 📉 | 7.5 FPPG | WR71 FPPG | 2025 Any 4th
With Mason Rudolph under center, Ridley saw a season-high nine targets against the Buffalo Bills. Unfortunately, those 9 targets produced 3 receptions for 42 yards. The Titans’ passing offense is abysmal and currently ranks last in the league averaging 145.8 yards per game. Ridley has caught just one-third of his targets this year and is approaching 30-years old.
It does not appear that Mason Rudolph or Will Levis are the long-term option at quarterback. Tennessee may look into the 2025 NFL Draft for their future quarterback. If you want to know some of those prospects, check out our SuperFlex Mock Draft for the 2025 NFL rookie class.
Fantasy Trade Advice | Players You Need to Trade Away
Andy Dalton | Nerds #N/A 📉 | 10.8 FPPG | QB32 FPPG | 2025 Any 4th
For the second time in three weeks, Andy Dalton was benched in a blowout loss—this time in the fourth quarter of Carolina’s 40-7 shellacking to the Washington Commanders. He completed 11 of 16 passes for 93 yards and threw 2 interceptions. For the year, Dalton has thrown for 989 yards, 7 touchdown passes, and 6 interceptions.
Clearly, Dalton is not the long-term answer in Carolina and the schedule is not getting any easier for the Panthers as they travel to Denver to take on a very stingy Bronco’s pass defense. Your opportunity to trade Dalton is closing quickly. Package him with another fringe starter if needed, but get something before he loses all value.
