Happy Thanksgiving Nerds! After an exciting start to the season, some players’ fantasy stock is on the rise due to increased performance, injury opportunities, or recent trades. Meanwhile, others’ have fallen due to poor performance, injuries, or recent trades. In this article, we dive into some fantasy trade advice for the top player targets for rebuilding teams heading into Week 13 of the 2024 NFL season.
Quarterback To Target | Fantasy Trade Advice
Brock Purdy | Nerds #31 | 19.5 FPPG | QB7 FPPG | Two 1st Round Picks
If you need a quarterback for your dynasty roster, Brock Purdy is a player to target. Purdy is 24-years old and tied to an offensive genius in head coach Kyle Shanahan. In 2023, Purdy’s first full season as an NFL starter, he finished as the QB6, throwing for 4,280 passing yards and 31 touchdowns on a team considered “run first.”
While some people in the fantasy industry feel that 2024 has been a “down” year for Purdy, he is still the QB8 in FPPG. Purdy has a QB8 finish or better in 5 games this season and has had only 1 game where he failed to reach 15 fantasy points. Purdy will miss Week 12 due to an injury, and I would use this time to make a deal with the Purdy manager aggressively.
Quarterback To Trade Away | Fantasy Trade Advice
Aaron Rodgers | Nerds #175 | 14.9 FPPG | QB23 FPPG | Late 2nd
The New York Jets have begun preparing for a fresh start in 2025 with the firing of Robert Saleh and General Manager Joe Douglas. Rumors are beginning to circulate that Aaron Rodgers may be next. NFL.com Ian Rappport reports “With Jets owner Woody Johnson set to replace the team’s leadership, sources say there are now questions about whether Rodgers will be welcomed back to the team next season.”
The Jets have given Rodgers everything he has asked for, from offensive coordinators to wide receivers, but he still has not found success. Rodgers turns 41 in December, and his best football days appear to be behind him. Rodgers has made his intentions clear that he would like to play in 2025, but it is unknown if he will have any suitors.
Running Back To Target | Fantasy Trade Advice
Bucky Irving | Nerds #112 | 13.0 FPPG | RB25 FPPG | 2025 Late 1st
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have one of the most favorable strength of schedules for running backs going into the fantasy playoffs. Bucky Irving is coming off of his best fantasy performance of the season scoring 24.2 fantasy points against the New York Giants.
With upcoming matchups against Carolina and Las Vegas, Irving is firmly in the RB2 conversation. His pass-catching ability gives him a safe fantasy floor and his explosiveness brings an opportunity to score anytime he possesses the football. Irving looks to be the steal of the 2024 running back draft class.
Running Back To Trade Away | Fantasy Trade Advice
Nick Chubb | Nerds #138 | 8.8 FPPG | RB38 FPPG | 2025 Mid to Late 2nd
It was a great ride for fantasy managers that rostered Nick Chubb. Chubb helped provide many RB1 seasons and fantasy championships for dynasty rosters. Unfortunately, due to injuries, Chubb is a declining player. Chubb has failed to top 60 rushing yards since returning from injury and has become a touchdown-dependent running back.
Chubb is averaging a career-low 3.0 yards per carry. He has one of the most difficult strength of schedules for running backs during the fantasy playoffs and will turn 29 in December. Chubb is coming off of a two-touchdown performance on Thursday Night Football so use that as leverage since this may be your last chance to offload Nick Chubb from your roster.
Wide Receiver To Target | Fantasy Trade Advice
Cooper Kupp | Nerds #86 | 20.1 FPPG | WR2 FPPG | Michael Pittman + 2nd
It is not very often that a receiver averaging over 20 FPPG is obtainable for a reasonable cost. Cooper Kupp has been fantastic this season posting double-digit fantasy points in every game except one. In that game, Kupp exited earlier due to injury. Kupp is currently the WR2 in FPPG but is not being valued that way due to his age.
Kupp has seen double-digit targets in 4 of his 6 games played this year. Kupp should continue to be viewed as a WR1 moving forward and has an excellent Week 13 matchup against the New Orleans Saints.
Wide Receiver To Trade Away | Fantasy Trade Advice
Deebo Samuel | Nerds #73 | 10.5 FPPG | WR44 FPPG | Any 2nd
Whether it is injury or age, watching the San Francisco 49ers this year looks different with Deebo Samuel. Deebo’s style of play lends toward a more physical style than other wide receivers. At this point, Jauan Jennings has surpassed Deebo as the reliable option in the Niners passing game. We also cannot forget George Kittle who is the TE1 in FPPG.
I anticipate San Francisco moving on from Deebo in the offseason to help offload some money needed to pay Brock Purdy. Unfortunately, there is not a current landing spot that would be as appealing as the Niners. This may be your final opportunity to unload Deebo from your fantasy rosters and receive a decent return.
Tight End To Trade For | Fantasy Trade Advice
Jonnu Smith | Nerds #213 | 11.4 FPPG | TE5 FPPG | Any 2025 2nd
Since Week 7, Jonnu Smith has been the TE4. He has had three finishes where he finished as the TE3 or better. During that time, Jonnu has led the Miami Dolphins in targets.
Jonnu is having a career year in Miami and could break his career high in receptions and in receiving yards. Jonnu is a weekly must-start on your dynasty roster.
Tight End To Trade Away | Fantasy Trade Advice
Jake Ferguson | Nerds #106 | 8.7 FPPG | TE23 FPPG | 2025 Mid 2nd
The 2024 season has not been a terrific year for the Dallas Cowboys. The 2025 offseason will be one to monitor. Dallas Owner Jerry Jones will likely move on from Head Coach Mike McCarthy and the entire coaching staff. That staff was very pivotal in the 2023 success that saw Jake Ferguson finish as the TE8 overall.
Ferguson has had a down year due to injuries and bad quarterback play resulting in only one top five tight end fantasy finish this year. It is almost certain that Dallas will bring in more offensive weapons, which will diminish Ferguson’s role in the offense.
