Fantasy Stock

Hey Nerds! Week 5 of the NFL season is on the horizon. After an exciting start to the season, some players’ fantasy stock is on the rise due to injury opportunities while others’ have fallen due to poor performance. In this article, we dive into some “stock up” and “stock down” players from Week 4.

Running Back Fantasy Stock Up

Kareem Hunt 📈 | 10.5 FPPG | RB30 FPPG | Dynasty Nerds Overall #N/A | Current Value – 2025 Late 2nd

Kareem Hunt’s return to Kansas City gave fantasy managers everything they hoped for. In his first game with the Chiefs in nearly six years, Hunt was featured early and often in the offense against the Los Angeles Chargers. Hunt led all Chiefs running backs in rushing yards with 69 yards. Hunt’s fantasy value is contingent on the health of Isiah Pacheco.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported Isiah Pacheco had “no complications” and “no ligament issues” during the surgery. Rapoport stated that Pacheco’s timeline to return was “at least 6 weeks” and “up to 8 weeks.” So, while Pacheco is on the sideline, Hunt is the running back to roster in Kansas City.

Wide Receiver Fantasy Stock Up

Jauan Jennings 📈 | 18.9 FPPG | WR4 FPPG | Dynasty Nerds Overall #N/A | Current Value – Early 2025 3rd

Jauan Jennings has led the 49ers in receiving yards in 3 of the 4 San Francisco 49ers games this season. His 11-catch-175 performance in Week 3 against the Los Angeles Rams was a career-high. Jennings capitalized on his opportunity with Geoge Kittle and Deebo Samuel out of the lineup.

Jennings continued to produce in Week 4 with 3 receptions and a team-high 88 receiving yards on 6 targets. It is impressive for Jennings to produce those receiving numbers given that Kittle and Samuel returned to the offense. Through 4 weeks, Jennings is 3rd in the NFL in receiving yards with 364 and is fresh off a 2-year extension he signed in the offseason.

Wide Receiver Fantasy Stock Up

Wan’Dale Robinson 📈 | 13.2 FPPG | WR15 FPPG | Dynasty Nerds Overall #183 | Current Value – Mid 2025 Second

In a recent episode of the Dynasty Nerds podcast, Matt, Rich, and Garrett spoke about Wan’Dale Robinson and his consistency as a WR3 in fantasy scoring. Defenses have turned their attention to rookie phenom Malik Nabers, allowing Robinson to thrive.

Daniel Jones has targeted Robinson with a 25.5% target share. Due to Nabers, the touchdown upside for Robinson may be limited, but his usage in the offense makes him a great PPR option. After a 14-target performance in a primetime game, the fantasy stock of Robinson has risen.

Running Back Fantasy Stock Down

Carson Steele 📉 | 2.2 FPPG | RB82 FPPG | Dynasty Nerds Overall #N/A | Current Value – 2025 Early 4th

The Carson Steele experiment as the lead running back for the Kansas City Chiefs has ended. Steele fumbled on the Chiefs’ first drive, which essentially sent him to the bench—allowing Kareem Hunt, who signed with Kansas City on September 17th, to lead the team in carries (16).

Steele was a popular waiver wire pick and was productive in the Cheifs’ Week 3 win against the Atlanta Falcons. Steele carried the ball 17 times for 72 yards and added a two-yard catch in a 22-17 victory. Unfortunately, Steele’s ball security and his deficiencies in pass protection cost him his feature back role.

Wide Receiver Fantasy Stock Down

Jalin Hyatt 📉 | 0.0 FPPG | WR202 FPPG | Dynasty Nerds Overall #206 | Current Value – Any 4th

Jalin Hyatt’s 2024 NFL season has not started as many fantasy managers would have hoped. Managers anticipated Hyatt would take the next step from his rookie season where he showed promise last year with 23 catches for 373 yards. This season, he’s been targeted just three times in four games and has yet to make a catch.

Hyatt’s 2.1% target share ranks 7th on the Giants and does not appear to be increasing. The Giants seem content with a combination of Darius Slayton, Malik Nabers, and Wan’Dale Robinson in their three wide receiver set packages. The stock of the former Fred Biletnikoff winner has reached an all-time low.

Tight End Fantasy Stock Down

Luke Musgrave 📉 | 1.8 FPPG | TE34 FPPG | Dynasty Nerds Overall #198 | Current Value – Mid 2025 3rd

After a promising rookie year where Luke Musgrave caught 31 receptions for 352 receiving yards and 2 touchdowns, Musgrave has been absent in the offense. His 31.4 snap percentage ranks 5th on the team and is nearly being doubled by his counterpart Tucker Kraft (60.9)

The tight end landscape has been bleak this year. Musgrave’s 7 targets rank him 7th on the team and until Musgrave can show more production, fantasy managers can leave Musgrave out of their lineups.
