Elijah Arroyo | Player Introduction
Prior to the 2024 season, Elijah Arroyo’s NFL hopes were slim, at best. In three seasons for the Hurricanes he had tallied a total of 11 receptions for 163 yards and 1 TD. During his breakout 2024 season, Arroyo posted a receiving line of 35/590/7, which was the 14th-highest receiving yardage total for tight ends in the country. His standout season earned him All-ACC Second Team honors for 2024.
While his 2024 emergence may feel like it came out of thin air, it’s not because he was a late-bloomer. In fact, Elijah Arroyo was the 129th ranked high school recruit, and 4th best TE in his class. He had offers from Alabama, Georgia, LSU, Penn State, Texas and just about every other top-end program in the country. What set Arroyo back was an ACL tear that severely limited his playing time (11 total games) during the 2022 and 2023 seasons. Additionally, a separate minor knee injury during the Senior Bowl kept him from working out at the NFL Combine.

Of the players in this tier, Elijah Arroyo offers the most upside and highest chance of vaulting up in my TE Rankings. He was a dangerous weapon for Cam Ward this season, catching 7 TD passes and tallying nearly 600 yards receiving. The biggest red flag for Arroyo is his injury history and subsequent durability concerns.
Bobby Bishop in the Latest 1QB TE Prem Mock Draft
Selected 2.05 | Drafted as TE3
Elijah Arroyo was the biggest benefactor of the Senior Bowl. He stood out as the best tight end at the competition, showcasing elite movement skills for his size. I projected Arroyo to the Chiefs in the late 2nd round of my Mock Draft 3.0. If he receives that landing spot (and Travis Kelce retires), Arroyo is going to skyrocket in rookie drafts.
Elijah Arroyo | Draft Outlook
Elijah Arroyo might have the largest range of outcomes of any tight end in this class. He is ranked as the 4th-best TE in Mel Kiper’s latest Big Board (ESPN+), but could fall dramatically if there are concerns about the health of his knee. Assuming he clears the medical evaluations, Arroyo could go between the 50th and 100th picks in the 2025 NFL Draft. If so, he could rise up to the late 2nd round of SuperFlex TE Premium drafts.
