Elic Ayomanor | Player Introduction

Born in Medicine Hat, Alberta, CAN, Elic Ayomanor moved to Hightstown, NJ before ending up in Deerfield, Massachusetts for high school where he lettered in both Track and Field (200m) and football. Despite leading Deerfield Academy to a prep title, Ayomanor was barely a top-1000 recruit in the 2022 class. After redshirting his first year, he emphatically announced his presence against Travis Hunter and the Colorado Buffaloes, notching 13 receptions for 294 yards and 3 TDs in a double OT comeback victory.

He ended the season with 1,013 yards on 62 receptions (best on his team), winning the Jon Cornish Trophy, awarded to the top Canadian player in the NCAA each season. While his stats took a slight dip in 2024 (63/831/6), Ayomanor led his team in receiving stats and earned second team all-ACC honors.

No. 23 Overall Prospect | Ranked as WR8

Two years of production at Stanford limits the tape on Elic Ayomanor, and his knee injuries (ACL, MCL tears) definitely don’t help his long-term stock. But Ayomanor uses his height and physicality well, especially when put in situations where he needs to rely on his abilities to track and high-point passes. The Stanford offense was a hot mess, which didn’t give Ayomanor a ton of good looks, but count me in as someone who can get behind his consistent, albeit not outstanding, tape.

No. 33 Overall Prospect | Ranked as WR10

Many in the draft community love Elic Ayomanor and have him rated much higher than this. But, I just do not get a good vibe from Ayomanor as a potential fantasy football starter. The positives? He has good size and power. However, he does not separate well and has an extensive injury history, tearing multiple knee ligaments. My biggest negative? Ayomanor simply does not seem comfortable catching the ball naturally which is a big red flag for me.

Doc Matthew Mitchell’s Top 50 Rookie Big Board

No. 34 Overall Prospect | Ranked as WR10

Elic Ayomanor burst onto the scene in 2023 when he played the game of his life against Travis Hunter and the Colorado Buffaloes. However, his numbers took a dip in 2024. He will need to show more going forward, but I could see an upgraded Michael Wilson when watching him play.

Tristan Cook’s Pre-NFL Combine WR Rankings

No. 9 Overall Wide Receiver

Elic Ayomanor is a tough prospect to evaluate. As I have discussed before, he has some of the most impressive highlight plays you’ll see from a college wide receiver in a game. However, he also disappears in games. Despite not appearing to have elite speed or quickness, Ayomanor reliably finds ways to get open. His draft capital (fair or not) will probably come down to how fast he runs in the 40-yard dash.

Elic Ayomanor | Draft Outlook

The depth of the 2025 WR class will push Elic Ayomanor down into the second day of the NFL Draft. In fact, he could even slip into the early part of Day 3. However, he tested very well at the NFL Combine, so the potential for Day 2 draft capital is alive and well. In your rookie drafts, Ayomanor will likely have a wide draft range. It will be hard for him to crack into round 2 but early in round 3 would be great value if he does go on Day 2 of the NFL Draft.
