Welcome to the Divisional Round CheatChart. In this article, I provide an easy-to-use positional matchups table and highlight potentially exploitable matchups. If you’re curious about the process you can find a full introduction HERE where I lay out the methodology.
Divisional Round Apologies
Sorry for the lateness of the Divisional Round CheatChart and the lack of a proper breakdown this week. Unfortunately, a few sources stopped updating, causing much more manual work and fixing of links. Things should be back on track for the Conference Championships.
How to Use the Divisional Round CheatChart
First, find YOUR PLAYER’S TEAM in the first column. Next, follow that line to THEIR POSITION’S column. That percentage is how much better or worse you can expect them to do compared to what they typically score.
Example: Let’s say you’re deciding between Amon-Ra St Brown (WR-DET) and Kyren Williams (RB-LAR). For St Brown, find DET in the first column. Follow that row over to the WR column, and you’ll see his positional matchup is 01%. That’s a neutral matchup. Next, for Williams, find LAR in the first column. Follow that row over to the RB column, and you’ll see his positional matchup is -47%, which is an extremely negative matchup. Given both players are averaging between 17 and 18 points per game, I’d lean St. Brown.
Quick Highlights
The Washington @ Detroit game is the juiciest of the week by far with a whopping 55.5 point over/under. With no great positional matchups at WR or RB, this is the game I would be targeting. Amon-Ra St. Brown is most likely the best option, but Jameson Williams is a more budget-friendly option in DFS. While Terry McLaurin is a good pick, my favorite on the Washington side is Zach Ertz due to the high over/under and good positional matchup.
The Ravens @ Bills game looks good from an over/under perspective, but there will likely be snow which makes things messy both through the air and on the ground. I would be hitting the under for player props on that game, especially on the Bills players considering what tough positional matchups they’re staring down. James Cook might get volume, but if the field is messy, he’s likely to be extremely inefficient.
At present, the Rams @ Eagles game has an 88% chance of snow so everything said above can be applied to this game.
