Cam Skattebo | Player Introduction
A do-it-all running back for the Arizona State Sun Devils in 2024, Cam Skattebo (scat-eh-boo) accounted for 53.5% of the team’s rushing and receiving yards. Skattebo started his collegiate career as an unranked prospect out of Rio Linda, CA with offers from only Sacramento State and William & Mary. He chose the Sacramento State Hornets and lead them to an 11-0 regular season and the No. 2-ranked FCS team in the country, earning Big Sky Offensive Player of the Year honors in 2022.
After a strong 2023 season, Skattebo exploded in 2024 to the tune of 1,711 rushing yards and 21 TDs. He also was a weapon in the receiving game, catching 45 passes for 605 yards and 3 more TDs. His 2024 season earned Cam Skattebo first team All-Big 12 honors. He was also named as a semifinalist for the Doak Walker and Maxwell awards and was fifth in Heisman voting.

No. 20 Overall Prospect | Ranked as RB8
Cam Skattebo is a player you just love to root for. It’s not very often that you find players that play every single down with the intensity and effort this RB brings to the table. Think Marion Barber or Mike Alstott – looking to make the game physical and uncomfortable for the defense. Skattebo’s 1,711 rushing yards were 2nd in the nation behind only Ashton Jeanty. He was also a dynamic pass catcher, hauling in 45 passes for 605 receiving yards, breaking multiple school records along the way. If only he were just a little bit faster. I expect Cam Skattebo to likely go early on Day 3 of the Draft.

No. 26 Overall Prospect | Ranked as RB11
Cam Skattebo put his Arizona State Sun Devils on his back and nearly dragged them to victory against Texas. If you didn’t know Skattebo’s game, you do now. As an unheralded recruit coming into college, a big question for NFL scouts will be how he tests. Grit and determination alone aren’t enough to win in the NFL.

No. 15 Overall Running Back
If I’m one of the founding members of the “TreVeyon Henderson is RB 2” fan club, then I should also be starting the “Cam Skattebo is overrated” club. I have seen more and more buzz about Cam Skattebo over the last few months, and I just don’t see it. He’s a fantastic collegiate running back. Until I see him post athletic testing numbers that suggest he can compete physically with NFL defenders, I’m not buying into the hype.
Cam Skattebo | Draft Outlook
Cam Skattebo is in the midst of a meteoric rise up draft boards. He posted a 4.65s 40-yard dash during his private workouts, which would have been the slowest among the running back ground at the 2025 NFL Combine. However, that time is fast enough for his style of play.
The varying opinions on Skattebo mean that his draft outlook for both the NFL and fantasy are hard to predict. He could be drafted on Day 2 of the NFL Draft or as late as the middle of Day 3. In fantasy, you’ll likely have to spend an early-to-mid 2nd round pick if you want to get Cam Skattebo.
