Nerds! The Dynasty Nerds writers are here to provide you with weekly start/sit advice all season long. We will be making our recommendations based on weekly consensus PPR rankings. Here is your Week 15 Wide Receiver Start/Sit advice from senior writer Tristan Cook.
One thing to keep in mind when making your Week 15 wide receiver start/sit decisions for the playoffs; sometimes you need to take a realistic look at your team and situation. If you squeaked into the playoffs or are suffering after the rough Thursday Night Football performance by Cooper Kupp, it might be time to swing for the fences.
This time of year, one loss ends your season. But, if the odds are stacked against you, it’s time to come swinging. A wide receiver that will get you 10 points may not be enough. Someone like Jameson Williams, Rome Odunze, or Tre Tucker might end up falling flat but they could also end up being the reason you win. Here’s to hoping you win your fantasy championship this year! Now, let’s get to it…
NOTE: Rankings are sourced from FantasyPros expert consensus expert rankings (ECR) and our terminology is for a 12-team PPR league. So, saying WR2 means top 24, or WR1 means top 12, etc.

START | WEEK 15 Wide Receiver Start/Sit
Jakobi Meyers | Las Vegas Raiders | WR 18
Week 14 Stats | WR 27 | FPts 13.7 | Tgts 10 | Rec 7 | Yds 67 | Confidence 85%
First, as always, I look for players with opportunities for fantasy production. Over the last month, perhaps no player has had more opportunities than Las Vegas’ Jakobi Meyers. In the last 5 games, Meyers has 53 targets, the 4th most in the NFL.
This week, the Raiders face off against the Falcons. Entering Week 14, Atlanta has allowed the 8th-most passing yards per game. Furthermore, per our own Brad Custer’s Positional Cheat Chart, the Raiders matchup with Atlanta (+36%) is the most-favorable wide receiver matchup in Week 15. That’s the kind of matchup that can win you a playoff matchup.
START | WEEK 15 Wide Receiver Start/Sit
Ladd McConkey | Los Angeles Chargers | WR 19
Week 14 Stats | Injured | Confidence 80%
Next up, Ladd McConkey is dealing with an injury but has been one of the best rookies in 2024. He missed last week, but looks like he might make it back on the field this week. During his last three games played, McConkey has 23 catches on 27 targets. Despite the absence last week, he still ranks in the top 30 in targets and is 18th in receptions.
This “start” is obviously dependent on if Ladd McConkey suits up, but his +18% matchup against the Buccaneers is the 4th-best in the league. Furthermore, the Tampa Bay defense gives up the third-most passing yards per game. McConkey went for 9 catches for 117 yards on 12 targets in his last game. He has the potential to put you into the next round of the playoffs.
START | WEEK 15 Wide Receiver Start/Sit
Jaylen Waddle | Miami Dolphins | WR 17
Week 14 Stats | WR 12 | FPts 20.9 | Tgts 12 | Rec 9 | Yds 99 | Confidence 85%
The Jaylen Waddle rollercoaster has been running wild but inconsistent all year. Last week, Waddle finished as WR12 despite facing one of the best pass defenses in the NFL. The week before that, against a bottom-10 pass defense, Waddle only managed 53 yards on 4 receptions. This inconsistency has been the only consistent part of Waddle’s season.
His matchup this week against the Texans may seem like a tough one but per the aforementioned CheatChart, Dolphins’ receivers have a +30% matchup against Houston’s defense. In a week where you need a big-time performance, a player like Jaylen Waddle can be the difference maker. Start him with confidence.
SIT | WEEK 15 Wide Receiver Start/Sit
Brian Thomas Jr. | Jacksonville Jaguars | WR 40
Week 14 Stats | WR 20 | FPts 18.7 | Tgts 12 | Rec 8 | Yds 86 | Confidence 20%
My first “sit” this week is a holdover from last week’s list. Despite the underwhelming offensive performance by the Jaguars last week, Brian Thomas Jr. managed to put up a solid outing. His 12 targets propelled Thomas in an otherwise unforgettable outing.
The matchup this week for Jacksonville strongly supports an offensive game plan focused on running the ball. They take on the New York Jets, who have the 4th-best pass defense in yards allowed per game. However, New York has a middling run defense, allowing 119.9 yards per game. I expect the Jags to try and run the ball and avoid the matchup with Sauce Gardner, who looks to be healthy. I’m avoiding Brian Thomas Jr. where I can, and so should you.
SIT | WEEK 15 Wide Receiver Start/Sit
Zay Flowers | Baltimore Ravens | WR 45
Week 14 Stats | Bye Week | Confidence 15%
The reasoning behind having Zay Flowers as a “sit” is simple. The matchup with the Giants is surprisingly a tough one. New York has allowed the 6th-fewest passing yards per game at 194.7. Conversely, they allow the 4th-most rushing yards per game at 141.7.
Furthermore, as we know, the Ravens have a great rushing offense. Their 179.1 yards per game on the ground trails only the Philadelphia Eagles for most in the league. This game lines up for a big day on the ground for Derrick Henry which means that the Baltimore pass catchers might be in for a rough outing. I’m looking elsewhere this week.
FADE | WEEK 15 Wide Receiver Start/Sit
AJ Brown | Philadelphia Eagles | WR 20
Week 14 Stats | Bye Week | Confidence 15%
Deciding what to do with the final player on this list, AJ Brown, is precisely the kind of decision that could make or break your season. A game with 9 receptions for 109 yards is what you’d expect for an average game from AJ Brown. Unfortunately, that didn’t happen in one game, it happened over his last two games.
The recent struggles for AJ Brown culminated in an apparent rift between Brown and Jalen Hurts. Whether or not there’s any bad blood between the two, the Philadelphia passing game hasn’t been able to take flight of late. Sadly for AJ Brown, I don’t think this is the week it changes. The Steelers and Eagles are two of the most run-heavy offenses in the NFL and the two worst matchups for wide receivers are this game. Benching AJ Brown this week is a scary move, but if you have a better option, it might save your season.
