This entry is part 2 of 7 in the series Win Your Week 11

Nerds! The Dynasty Nerds writers are here to provide you with weekly start/sit advice all season long. We will be making our recommendations based on weekly consensus PPR rankings. Here is the Week 11 Quarterback Start/Sit from Senior NFL Nerd Mike Hicks.

One thing to keep in mind when making Week 11 Quarterback start/sit decisions; it will ALWAYS depend on who your other options are. Don’t take the players below out of (or put them into) your lineups unless the alternates are worth it.

NOTE: Rankings are sourced from FantasyPros expert consensus expert rankings (ECR) and our terminology is for a 12-team PPR league. So, saying QB2 means top 24, or QB1 means top 12, etc.

Our writers answer all positional questions, including quarterback start/sit questions on Discord before the games exclusively for the #Nerdherd. C.J. STROUD I V. DAL I 14.9 FPPG I ECR 13 I 90% CONFIDENCE

The Houston Texans and C.J. Stroud fell to 6-4 in Week 10 but still lead the AFC South. Stroud showed glimpses, but still struggled overall. He had 232 yards, 1 TD, and finished with 11.8 fantasy points. Stroud is now averaging 237.1 PaYPG, 13th in the NFL. Last season, Stroud averaged 273.9 PaYPG. The Texans offensive line has been a problem. According to Fantasy Points Data Suite, Stroud has been pressured the NFL’s 4th-most at 40.8%. Through 10 games, Stroud has 24 scramble plays—already more than he had all of 2023 (FPDS).

C.J. Stroud goes from being my Week 10 spotlight player to the bright lights of Monday Night Football where he’ll face the Dallas Cowboys in Week 11. The Cowboys have given up 18-plus fantasy points in 6 of 9 games this season. According to our Data Nerd Brad Custer’s (@moncalFF) DPOA Chart (Defensive Percentage Over Average), the Cowboys are expected to allow 11% more fantasy points than Stroud’s average. Nico Collins should be active for his first game since Week 5. Stroud has moved to a START depending on the matchup category for the rest of the season. For Week 11, I recommend starting Stroud in all fantasy football formats.

JORDAN LOVE I V. CHI I 18.5 FPPG I ECR 12 I 70% CONFIDENCE

Cheeseheads Unite! The Green Bay Packers and quarterback Jordan Love will look to get back on track after losing to the Detroit Lions in Week 9. In that Week 9 matchup, Love had 11.9 fantasy points (QB23), passing for 273 yards and 0 touchdowns. Through Week 10, Love is 6th in The NFL, passing for 260.0 PaYPG (FPDS). Turnovers have not been Love’s friend this season. He had 11 interceptions in 2023. Through 10 weeks, he has already thrown 10 INTs (FPDS). The Packers are calling pass plays at 53.2%, which is 5th lowest in the NFL (FPDS).

Can Jordan Love continue the Packers’ domination over the Bears from seasons past?  Chicago just fired their Offensive Coordinator, but their defense has been a bright spot most of the season. They are allowing the NFL’s 5th-lowest completion rate at 61.6%. According to Brad Custer’s DPOA Chart, Love has the 3rd-most disadvantageous matchup this week at -24% lower than average expected. The O/U of this matchup is only 40.5. That, along with the matchup against the Bears defense, doesn’t bode well for Love. I recommend keeping Love on your bench in all formats if possible.

SUPERFLEX QUARTERBACK START/Sit

ANTHONY RICHARDSON I V. NYJ I 12.6 FPPG I ECR 21 I 65% CONFIDENCE

Don’t call it a comeback! Anthony Richardson is once again the starting QB for the Indianapolis Colts, presumably for the rest of the season. Richardson was benched for veteran Joe Flacco earlier this season, but Week 11 is Richardson’s opportunity to show that he can be the QB of the future for the Colts. In his 6 games played, he passed for 159.7 PaYPG, 4 TD, and 7 INTs. Saying that Richardson has been inconsistent would be an understatement. He has a completion rate of 44.4% and a passer rating of 57.2, both lowest in the NFL among QBs with at least 100 dropbacks (FPDS). But his upside is due to his athleticism and ability to run with the ball. Richardson is averaging 40.3 RuYPG.

The Indianapolis Colts travel to the East Coast to face the New York Jets. As big of an up-and-down season as Richardson has had, the New York has been on a bigger roller coaster. The Jets’ defense started strong but has struggled as of late. The Jets are a plus matchup and are expected to allow +14% over average (FPDS). Mr. “T” once said, “To have a comeback, you have to have a setback.” Richardson will look to prove the critics and naysayers wrong. In a week with injuries and bye weeks, go ahead and put Richardson in your Superflex lineups. He has the upside to be a top-18 QB in Week 11.

SUPERFLEX QUARTERBACK start/SIT

GENO SMITH  I V. SF I 18.0 FPPG I ECR 15 I 60% CONFIDENCE

Coming off of their bye week, Geno Smith and the Seattle Seahawks look to get back on track in Week 11. Smith is averaging 284.4 PaYPG—the most in the NFL. But like most statistics, it doesn’t always mean fantasy success. Smith has the NFL’s 10th-best adjusted completion rate of 78.0% (FPDS). The Seahawks have a pass-play rate of 67.7%, 2nd in the NFL (FPDS). Even though he is 12th in FPPG, Smith is tied for 27th with .42 fantasy points per dropback. Smith is tied for the NFL lead, however, with 10 INTs.

The Seattle Seahawks will travel to NorCal to face the San Francisco 49ers in Week 11. The 49ers have only allowed 18-plus fantasy points to QBs twice this season. This includes Week 6, where the 49ers allowed 14.5 FP to Geno Smith in their first matchup. The 49ers are a negative matchup for Smith. They are expected to give up 19% less than Smith’s average (DPOA). Smith has a Completion Percentage Over Expected of -3.1%, the 3rd lowest in the NFL. Do not start Smith in 1QB leagues, and I recommend sitting him in Superflex leagues if possible.

SPOTLIGHT QUARTERBACK start/SIT

CALEB WILLIAMS I V. GB I  14.2 FPPG I ECR 24 I 30% CONFIDENCE

Another one bites the dust. Caleb Williams will have a new playcaller after Offensive Coordinator Shane Waldron was fired earlier this week. Williams’ season has been a complete all-or-nothing situation so far. He has scored 20-plus fantasy points in 3 games. However, in all 9 of his other games, he has scored fewer than 12 fantasy points (FPDS). Williams is averaging 198.3 PaYPG. He has 9 TD and 5 INTs.

The Chicago Bears will look to get the offense rolling in the right direction when they face the Green Bay Packers this week. The Bears must change play calling and how they use Caleb Williams overall if they want to be successful against the Packers. It’s a negative matchup for Williams with the Packers expected to give up 23% less than Williams’ average. SIT Williams in any format if you can, but if you have to start him in Superflex leagues, make sure to temper your expectations.
