One thing to keep in mind when making your tight end start/sit decisions; it will ALWAYS depend on who your other options are. Don’t take the players below out of (or put them into) your lineup unless the alternatives are worth it.

NOTE: Rankings are sourced from FantasyPros expert consensus expert rankings (ECR) and our terminology is for a 12-team PPR league. So, saying TE2 means top 24, or TE1 means top 12, etc.

Week 11 Tight End START/sit

Jonnu Smith | Miami Dolphins | TE 15

Week 10 Stats | TE20 | FPts 7.5 | Tgts 4 | Rec 3 | Yds 45 | Confidence 78%

Our tight end of the week is a must-START option: Jonnu Smith. The Dolphins tight end has had steady production, averaging 10 fantasy points over his last 5 games. While the Dolphins passing offense is still a bit underwhelming, Smith has been a consistent option at the position.

He’ll face off against the Raiders, who allow the 5th-highest fantasy points per game to tight ends this year. The Raiders have allowed an opposing tight end over 60 receiving yards in 3 of the last 4 games. The recent news that Tyreek Hill is dealing with a wrist injury may lean toward Smith having a more significant role in this Dolphins offense. He should finish as a TE1 in Week 11.

Week 11 Tight End start/SIT

Mike Gesicki | Cincinnati Bengals | TE 13

Week 10 Stats | TE22 | FPts 7 | Tgts 9 | Rec 4 | Yds 30 | Confidence 63%

Our tight end SIT of the week is Bengals’ Mike Gesicki. Many fantasy managers were disappointed that Gesicki bombed in fantasy production in Week 10. Managers may want to return to Gesicki since he did see 9 targets still in this matchup. That would be a mistake with the likely return of wide receiver Tee Higgins. Gesicki is only averaging 3 fantasy points in the 5 games that Higgins played.

He’ll face off against the Los Angeles Chargers, who are in the top-half of the league in stopping fantasy tight ends. They are one of few teams that have not allowed a tight end to score. Even with Higgins’ status, Gesicki is likely in for a difficult matchup in Week 11.

Streamer | Week 11 Tight End START/sit

Will Dissly | Los Angeles Chargers | TE 18

Week 10 Stats | TE18 | FPts 8 | Tgts 6 | Rec 5 | Yds 30 | Confidence 65%

The tight-end streamer for Week 11 is Chargers’ Will Dissly. The veteran tight end has produced well in fantasy over the last month with at least 3 games of 8 or more fantasy points. We’ve seen the recent uptick in the Chargers’ passing offense as they went from averaging 140 passing yards to 280 yards since their Week 5 bye. Will Dissly has benefited from the lack of a true WR1 on the offense.

Dissly is going up against the Bengals, who are tied for the 3rd-most fantasy points allowed to tight ends this year per Pro Football Reference. They have also allowed the 2nd-most touchdowns to the position (6). This Sunday Night Football game could be higher scoring, allowing Dissly to see more work in the offense. He could end up being a surprise in Week 11.

Spotlight | Week 11 Tight End start/SIT

Mark Andrews | Baltimore Ravens | TE 7

Week 10 Stats | TE2 | FPts 18.8 | Tgts 7 | Rec 6 | Yds 68 | 1 TD | Confidence 75%

Our tight end spotlight for Week 11 is Mark Andrews. The Ravens’ tight end has woken up in the last 5 games after a terrible start to the season. He has 14 or more fantasy points in PPR leagues in 4 of those previous 5 games. The Ravens offense seems like it can’t be stopped with plenty of high-scoring games in their wake.

Andrews will face off against the Steelers, who are a middle-of-the-pack team against tight ends this season. Once again, you may consider Andrews a start-and-forget type of tight end. He might be, but Andrews has a poor history against the Steelers throughout his career. In 9 games, Andrews has never scored a TD. In the last 3 years, he has averaged 9.2 fantasy points, but only 6.9 in games played in Pittsburgh. Even this year, the Steelers have only allowed two tight ends to finish as a TE1.

Andrews is in our spotlight to see if he can break this poor outing against the Steelers.

Redemption | Week 11 Tight End START/sit

Hunter Henry | New England Patriot | TE 14

Week 10 Stats | TE37 | FPts 2.4 | Tgts 4 | Rec 1 | Yds 14 | Confidence 77%

Our tight end redemption for Week 11 is Hunter Henry. The veteran tight end gave us a horrible performance under 3 fantasy points. He should expect a bounce-back against the Los Angeles Rams. The Rams are ranked 6th in fantasy points allowed per game to tight ends. The Rams have allowed 4 tight ends to finish as a TE1 this season—all had 5 or more targets. Henry has already seen at least 5 targets in half of his games this year.

The Patriots will likely be forced to throw the ball more against the Bears. Drake Maye had 3 full games where he threw 30-plus times, and last week was only 25 attempts. The Rams will make this game competitive, and Henry could benefit from seeing more targets in Week 11.
