This entry is part 3 of 6 in the series Week 10 Start/Sit by Positions

Nerds! The Dynasty Nerds writers are here to provide you with weekly start/sit advice all season long. We will be making our recommendations based on weekly consensus PPR rankings. Here is the Week 10 Wide Receiver Start/Sit from Senior Nerd Tristan Cook.

QB | RB | WR | TE | IDP

One thing to keep in mind when making your Week 10 wide receiver start/sit decisions; it will ALWAYS depend on who your other options are. Don’t take the players below out of (or put them into) your lineup unless the alternatives are worth it.

NOTE: Rankings are sourced from FantasyPros expert consensus expert rankings (ECR) and our terminology is for a 12-team PPR league. So, saying WR2 means top 24, or WR1 means top 12, etc.

WIDE RECEIVER START/sit

Jaylen Waddle | Miami Dolphins | WR 29

Week 9 Stats | WR 46 | FPts 7.6 | Tgts 2 | Rec 2 | Yds -4 | TDs 1 | Confidence 75%

To kick this week off, we are going to go against the grain from our norm. We usually look for players that are in line for a heavy target share. That hasn’t been Jaylen Waddle in the last few weeks. Over his last 3 games, Waddle has a total of 10 targets. So, why am I advocating for starting Jaylen Waddle?

The return of Tua Tagovailoa has rejuvenated Miami’s offense. The 2 games since his return have netted Miami 54 points. Meanwhile, in the previous 4 games without Tagovailoa, the Dolphins scored a combined 36 points. This week, Miami faces off against the bottom-10 pass defense in the Los Angeles Rams. This is a great week to start Waddle.

Jordan Addison | Minnesota Vikings | WR 30

Week 9 Stats | WR 19 | FPts 16.1 | Tgts 5 | Rec 5 | ReYds 42 | Ru 1 | RuYds 9 | TDs 1 | Confidence 80%

My other start this week is another WR2 for his team, Jordan Addison. Addison has been inconsistent this year, with finishes as high as WR7 and as low as WR80. He also dealt with an ankle injury earlier this year. Thankfully, Addison’s foot is healed and his role in the offense seems to be increasing. Last week he made this spectacular catch…

The reasoning for my added optimism this week is simple. The Vikings take on the Jacksonville Jaguars this week who are allowing the second-most passing yards in the NFL. The Jaguars are a much better rush defense than pass defense. Furthermore, the Vikings are a better passing offense than rushing offense. So, I expect the Vikings to throw the ball early and often. Most of the targets will go to Justin Jefferson, but Addison should have plenty of opportunities for targets.

WIDE RECEIVER start/SIT

Keenan Allen | Chicago Bears | WR 34

Week 9 Stats | WR 47 | FPts 7.6 | Tgts 10 | Rec 4 | Yds 36 | Confidence 5%

This is becoming a set weekly portion of this article. For many years it was Gabe Davis that found himself on the sit list every week. After Davis’ struggles in Jacksonville, it appears that Keenan Allen has taken over the honor of the weekly sit. Somehow Allen keeps getting ranked in the top-36 receivers despite only having one week above WR47. There’s no reason that Keenan Allen should be in your starting lineup this week (or any).

Quentin Johnston | Los Angeles Chargers | WR 36

Week 9 Stats | WR 8 | FPts 22.8 | Tgts 5 | Rec 4 | Yds 118 | TDs 1 | Confidence 20%

My next two “sits” are the top two receivers for the LA Chargers. Despite the fact that they both had impressive performances in Week 9, I am hesitant to play them this week. The reasoning is simple. The Tennessee Titans allow the fewest passing yards per game in 2024.

I expect this game to be a bit of a low-scoring slugfest. If you’re counting on Quentin Johnston or Ladd McConkey to perform like they did last week, you’re going to be disappointed.

Ladd McConkey | Los Angeles Chargers | WR 21

Week 9 Stats | WR 33 | FPts 11.4 | Tgts 7 | Rec 5 | Yds 64 | Confidence 25%

See above. Proceed with caution.

Marvin Harrison Jr. | Arizona Cardinals | WR 25

Week 9 Stats | WR 76 | FPts 3.4 | Tgts 5 | Rec 2 | Yds 34 | Fum 1 | Confidence 15%

My last “sit” this week has been frustrating for fantasy managers all season. Sadly, I don’t expect Week 10 to be any different. Harrison has finished as WR1, WR4, WR20, and WR26. But, he also has finishes as WR58, WR59, WR76, WR103, and WR135. He’s been an enigma and is facing the second-toughest pass defense this week. You may not have better options, but I’d be looking to get him out of my lineup this week.
