Hey Nerds! After an exciting start to the season, some players’ fantasy stock is on the rise due to increased performance, injury opportunities, or recent trades. Meanwhile, others’ have fallen due to poor performance, injuries, or recent trades. In this article, we dive into some fantasy trade advice for the top player targets heading into Week 9 of the 2024 NFL season.
Fantasy Trade Advice | Players To Trade For
Darnell Mooney | Nerds #149 📈 | 13.8 FPPG | WR23 FPPG | 2025 Mid 2nd
Darnell Mooney has surprised many fantasy managers with his hot start in the 2024 NFL season. Mooney ranks 2nd on the Atlanta Falcons in targets (60), receptions (37), receiving yards (506), and receiving touchdowns (4).
Darnell Mooney is in the 1st year of a 3-year contract with Atlanta and is only 26-years old. Mooney’s production is still obtainable as seen by some recent trades in the Dynasty GM Tool. Mooney should continue to have fantasy success as Atlanta faces Dallas in Week 9.
Fantasy Trade Advice | Players to Trade For
Cedric Tillman | Nerds #197 📈 | 6.3 FPPG | WR85 FPPG | Multiple 2nds
No one has benefited more in Cleveland after the Browns traded away Amari Cooper than Cedric Tillman. Since the departure of Cooper, Tillman has had a WR10 and WR3 finish averaging 23.5 FPPG.
Per Fantasy Points Data Suite, Tillman has averaged a 23% target share, 37% air yards share, 82% route share, and 27% first-read target share over the last 2 weeks. Tillman is now viewed as the Browns’ WR1 and should continue to have productive fantasy weeks with Jameis Winston at the helm.
Fantasy Trade Advice | Players You Want to Trade Away
Elijah Moore | Nerds #205 📈 | 6.5 FPPG | WR82 FPPG | Any 2025 3rd
Elijah Moore is another Cleveland Browns receiver who has benefited from the Amari Cooper trade. In Week 8, Moore led the Browns in targets and catches while having his best game of the 2024 NFL season. His 16.5 fantasy point performance was his second-highest since joining the Cleveland Browns.
It is hard to imagine Moore consistently being higher than the fourth receiving option behind Cedric Tillman, Jerry Jeudy, or David Njoku. If you have rostered Elijah Moore, then you are aware of the frustration he brings. This is your chance to end that frustration and trade him away while he has some fantasy value.
Fantasy Trade Advice | Players You Need to Trade Away
Devin Singletary | Nerds #151 📉 | 7.8 FPPG | RB43 FPPG | Any 3rd
Tyrone Tracy Jr. season is here! Tracy Jr. burst into the national spotlight after an impressive 145-yard rushing performance on Monday Night Football against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Singletary saw a minimal role rushing for 11 yards on 2 carries.
However, what is more concerning to me is that Tracy Jr. left the game twice due to injury, but never saw his workload decrease in either return to the game. The window to trade Singletary might be closed, but if you can find a fantasy manager willing to trade for him, do it immediately!
Fantasy Trade Advice | Players You Need to Trade Away
Chuba Hubbard | Nerds #151 📉 | 14.5 FPPG | RB20 FPPG | 2025 2nd
Rookie running back Jonathon Brooks is inching closer to his NFL season debut. On Oct. 16, the Panthers designated Brooks to return from the NFI (Non-Football Injury) list, opening his 3-week practice window. He has been a limited participant in practice over the last week and a half.
Carolina’s season is essentially over as they go into Week 9 with a 1-7 record. It is time to see what their future looks like. That future includes Jonathon Brooks which means Hubbard’s days as the clear starter in the Panthers backfield may be coming to an end.
Editor’s note: Hubbard could be a trade-for-less candidate (mid-late 3rd) for tanking teams as he will soon score fewer points, but could be on the move. He will be a UFA (Unrestricted Free Agent) this off season and may have flex-worthy fantasy value in 2025.
Fantasy Trade Advice | Players You Can Drop
Skyy Moore | Nerds #157 | 0.0 FPPG | WR291 FPPG |
Any hopes of Skyy Moore being a fantasy contributor can be put to rest. Moore was placed on the Injured Reserve last week, and his 2024 season quite possibly could be over. After season-ending injuries to Hollywood Brown and Rashee Rice, Moore had an opportunity to step up in a depleted Kansas City receiving core.
However, Moore has failed to record a reception and Kansas City addressed their need at the position by trading for DeAndre Hopkins. Moore’s future with Kansas City is very much in doubt and it seems that parting ways would be best for all parties—including our own.
