Attack the 2024 Rookie Draft : 2.11

The pick is in! At 2.11, runningback Jaylen Wright is off the board and could be the missing piece for your dynasty roster

In this series for the Dynasty Nerds, the staff will take a look at rookie draft pick-by-pick and evaluate who they would select. Each pick will take into account other players on the board, how the team build can affect the pick and possibly change the pick, and also the trade value of the pick.

We are operating under the assumption that the league is a SuperFlex league with a tight end-premium scoring format.

The 2.11 Pick

With pick 2.11 in this rookie draft, I returned to the running back well, selecting Jaylen Wright. The Miami Dolphins selected him in the fourth round of the NFL draft, making him the fifth running back taken in the draft.

Even though Wright was a fourth-round selection, Miami traded up to get Wright, investing significant draft capital, which included a 2025 third-round draft pick. Wright has home run speed, which fits right into the Dolphin’s “speed first” mindset. He is set to be an eventual replacement for 32-year-old Raheem Mostert. Add the durability issues with De’Von Achane and Mostert’s age, and Wright could see significant touches early on and often in this Miami offense.

Who Else Should You Consider?

It is a steal to grab a running back this late in the second round with the upside of Wright. If you are picking at the 2.11, you traded into that pick, or your team competed for a championship title. More than likely, you have a very solid team. When analyzing this selection, the choice came down to Jermaine Burton or Jaylen Wright. But with @MonCalFF selecting Burton at 2.10, the choice was easy. Other options would be tight end Ben Sinnott or fellow running back Blake Corum.

Should You Trade Away or Keep 2.11?

Suppose you are debating whether you should keep or trade away this pick. Here is the current crop of players that the pick currently holds in SuperFlex/Tight End Premium leagues. These values are based on the Dynasty Nerds’ ranks.

The value for Wright appears to be around the aging veteran who may be on their last leg of fantasy production. This is where you must self-evaluate your team and decide what fits best for your team.

The Final Word

As you can see, this draft class offers tremendous value compared to previous years. It really is a pick-your-flavor of whatever you desire. Good luck with winning your 2024 championships!
