Rookie Report Week 10

The 2023 rookies are contributing more each week - here's a rundown of the rookies that made the most impact in Week 10!

As we get through the bye weeks, more and more rookies are showing up on the stat sheet.

QUARTERBACKS

Six rookie quarterbacks started week ten. CJ Stroud continued his dominance, but no other player threw for over 200 yards.

CJ Stroud, Texans

Week 10: 23-39, 355 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT | 8 yards rushing. 1 TD

2023: 196-318, 2626 yards, 15 TDs, 2 INTs | 86 yards, 2 TDs

Stroud had another great game despite a terrible interception late in the fourth quarter. He wasn’t perfect, but he did a great job keeping the play alive and making Noah Brown look like a star.

Will Levis, Titans

Week 10: 19-39, 199 yards, 1 INT

2023: 60-107, 699 yards, 4 TDs, 2 INTs | 13 yards

Levis hasn’t been special since his first game. Still, he will get every chance to win the role this season. I doubt the Titans make a change at head coach, but if they do, it’s more likely they look for a full reset.

Bryce Young, Panthers

Week 10: 21-38, 185 yards | 18 yards

2023: 182-290, 1560 yards, 8 TDs, 7 INTs | 109 yards, 2 TDs

Many people have written off Young already, but it’s way too early for me. It was another less-than-inspiring game, but Young doesn’t exactly have a lot of marquee weapons. I expected more this season, but think his game is built more off timing. It will take time.

The Rest of Week 10

  • Tyson Bagent-Bears – 20-33, 162 yards | 12 yards
  • Aiden O’Connell-Raiders – 16-27, 153 yards, 1TD, 1 INT | 3 yards
  • Tommy Devito-Giants – 14-27, 86 yards, 2 TDs, 1 INT | 41 yards
  • Clayton Tune-Cardinals – 1 yard, 1 TD

RUNNING BACKS

Bijan Robinson and Jahmyr Gibbs stood out in week ten. Zach Charbonnet, Keaton Mitchell, and Tyjae Spears all put up good numbers in complementary roles.

Bijan Robinson, Falcons

Week 10: 22 carries, 95 yards, 1 TD | 1 catches, 11 yards

2023: 122 carries, 612 yards, 2 TDs | 29 catches, 208 yards, 2 TDs

The Falcons’ dedication to the run isn’t resulting in wins. Robinson will be a stud in any system, but after three losses in a row, Arthur Smith is on the hot seat.

Jahmyr Gibbs, Lions

Week 10: 14 carries, 77 yards, 2 TDs | 3 catches, 35 yards

2023: 90 carries, 476 yards, 4 TDs | 31 catches, 200 yards

Gibbs with another great game, as he is on pace for 1,000 total yards. David Montgomery got his touches, but Gibbs is making big plays. The Lions’ offense was balanced, with 33 passes to 31 runs.

Zach Charbonnet, Seahawks

Week 10: 6 carries, 44 yards| 4 catches, 18 yards

2023: 36 carries, 210 yards | 13 catches, 70 yards

Charbonnet is Gibbs lite, carving out a role despite Kenneth Walker being the primary runner. It was a curious/frustrating draft pick for fantasy and remains that. Charbonnet might be wasted playing second fiddle to Walker for years.

Keaton Mitchell, Ravens

Week 10: 3 carries, 34 yards, 1 TD | 1 catch, 32 yards

2023: 12 carries, 172 yards, 2 TDs | 3 catches, 37 yards

It remains confusing on just why exactly Mitchell went undrafted. This is about what we expected. Too small to be an every-down back but too electric to not see the field. Very few teams could benefit from a guy like Mitchell getting a handful of touches a game.

Tyjae Spears, Titans

Week 10: 5 carries, 18 yards | 4 catches, 42 yards

2023: 43 carries, 214 yards, 1 TD | 26 catches, 166 yards

Derrick Henry didn’t get traded, meaning that Spears remains in his supporting role. He has outsnapped Henry in each of the last two weeks, while Henry is getting more carries.

The Rest of Week 10

  • Roschon Johnson, Bears – 5 carries, 18 yards | 4 catches, 14 yards
  • Jaleel McLaughlin, Broncos – 6 carries, 8 yards | 2 catches, 4 yards
  • Tank Bigsby, Jaguars – 3 carries, 5 yards
  • Deuce Vaughn, Cowboys – 1 carry, -2 yards | 1 catch, 11 yards

WIDE RECEIVERS

I would love to see the numbers comparing this wideout class historically to other classes. Ten wideouts already have over 300 yards, and new guys are showing up every week.

Demario Douglas, Patriots

Week 10: 6 catches, 84 yards

2023: 30 catches, 352 yards

Douglas remains a bright spot in a frustrating Patriots season. While may have a new QB throwing him balls the next time he sees the field, he has had at least four catches each of the last four weeks and has been increasing his yards as well.

Jayden Reed, Packers

Week 10: 5 catches, 84 yards

2023: 28 catches, 417 yards, 4 TDs

Is it Doubs, Watson, Wicks, or Reed? Will Jordan Love have a good game? The Packers are just too hard to read. Reed continues a solid but inconsistent season.

Zay Flowers, Ravens

Week 10: 5 catches, 73 yards

2023: 50 catches, 545 yards, 1 TD

Flowers is the number one guy in Baltimore, even with Mark Andrews on the Ravens. He has the Bengals in Week 11, who struggled to keep Tank Dell under wraps.

Jordan Addison, Vikings

Week 10: 4 catches, 69 yards

2023: 45 catches, 603 yards, 7 TDs

Justin Jefferson is coming back to a bonafide star as the second wide receiver in Minnesota. He is also coming back to Josh Dobbs at QB. With Nacua falling back to earth, Addison might be the best wideout in this class.

Tank Dell, Texans

Week 10: 6 catches, 56 yards, 1 TD

2023: 34 catches, 510 yards, 5 TDs

Dell was in and out of the lineup in Week 9 with an injury. His big play ability was on display with another touchdown on six catches. Stroud’s ability to keep moving and find the open man will only help Dell as he matures.

The Rest of Week 10

  • Jaxon Smith-Ngiba, Seahawks – 4 catches, 53 yards
  • Dontayvion Wicks, Packers – 3 catches, 51 yards
  • Josh Downs, Colts – 2 catches, 40 yards
  • Jalen Brooks, Cowboys – 4 catches, 39 yards
  • Quentin Johnston, Chargers – 4 catches, 34 yards
  • Michael Wilson, Cardinals – 3 catches, 34 yards
  • Xavier Gipson, Jets – 1 catch, 24 yards
  • Josh Palmer, Bucs – 2 catches, 21 yards
  • Jonathan Mingo, Panthers – 3 catches, 20 yards
  • Ronnie Bell, 49ers – 1 catch, 20 yards
  • Tyler Scott, Bears – 1 catch, 15 yards
  • Jake Bobo, Seahawks – 2 catches, 13 yards
  • Kayshon Boutte, Patriots – 1 catch, 11 yards
  • Derius Davis, Chargers – 2 catches, 7 yards

TIGHT ENDS

Overall, the tight end room is pretty boring. Sam LaPorta is a star, and Luke Musgrave and Dalton Kincaid are solid. Michael Mayer is rising. We did see eight total TEs with catches, which is the most of the year.

Luke Musgrave, Packers

Week 10: 2 catches, 64 yards

2023: 29 catches, 313 yards, 1 TD

Musgrave and Kincaid could end up in a battle for the second-best tight end In this class. You’d be happy with any of the top three. Musgrave is in another unsettled situation and he should only get better as it works itself out.

Dalton Kincaid, Bills

Week 10: 5 catches, 51 yards, 1 TD

2023: 45 catches, 390 yards, 2 TDs

The Bills offense is struggling but Kincaid isn’t the issue. Joe Brady will be taking over as offensive coordinator which could be a positive.

Sam LaPorta, Lions

Week 10: 4 catches, 40 yards

2023: 47 catches, 473 yards, 4 TDs

LaPorta comes off the bye with another solid week. Brock Wright stole a touchdown this week so it wasn’t what it could have been. Still, LaPorta is a top 5 TE.

The Rest of Week 10

  • Michael Mayer, Raiders – 4 catches, 40 yards
  • Josh Whyle, Titans – 1 catches, 16 yards
  • Will Mallory, Colts – 1 catch, 7 yards
  • Darnell Washington, Steelers – 1 catch, 6 yards
  • Tucker Kraft, Packers – 1 catch, 6 yards
