Week Six Takeaways: The Significant In The NFC East

@DanT_NFL is here to cover all the essential takeaways from NFL Week Six. Read on about the NFC East.

We are now over a month into this NFL season! We must focus on the top takeaways now that we have film and statistics to study. No longer can we rest on our offseason takes of who will succeed and who will fail. We now have a reasonably large sample size of NFL football. The fantasy season will move quickly, and in a dynasty, it is essential to acquire players before they break out or unload players before they falter. We can lead our team to a fantasy football title by focusing on weekly top takeaways! Read on about the NFC East.

Cooper Rush Time Has Come To An End

After a curious five wins in a row as a starter, dating back to last season, Cooper Rush’s time seems to end. Dak Prescott is on the verge of a return, and the Dallas Cowboys have finally reached the limit of how successful they could be with Rush. His final start this year ended in a 26-17 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday Night Football. This was a critical NFC East matchup that now gives the Eagles the edge for the division title. His final stat line was not great. Cooper Rush was 18/28 for 181 yards and a touchdown. He added three interceptions to that to cement what was a terrible start.

The Dallas Cowboys are on the road next week to face the Detroit Lions. All signs point to Dak Prescott making just his second start of the year. Prescott’s original thumb injury was suffered during Week One against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. This should be an upgrade for all pieces of the Cowboys’ offense. Dynasty managers in Superflex shouldn’t drop rush, though. Dak has sustained numerous injuries throughout his career, and there is no guarantee that he will finish the season healthy.

Wan’Dale Robinson Continues A Great Rookie Class

This 2022 rookie wide receiver class has been something special. It got a bit more exciting this past Sunday as we saw Wan’Dale Robinson on the field for the first time since Week One. It wasn’t a big breakout game, just four targets for three receptions and 37 yards. He did find the endzone, however. This a promising sign for a player in only his second career start.

This Giants’ offense desperately needs pass-catching weapons as the team cannot escape the injury bug. Sterling Shepard was lost for most of the season, and Kadarius Toney has been inactive since Week 2. That doesn’t include Kenny Golladay, who is making over $17 million this year not to play for the team. There is a spot on this offense that Wan’Dale Robinson can carve out for himself, and dynasty managers should be excited about what the rest of the season has in store.

Carson Wentz Injury

Despite leading the Commanders to a 12-7 victory last Thursday night, the concern right now for Carson Wentz is his throwing hand. He suffered a fractured finger that required surgery to repair. The surgery has already successfully taken place, and Wentz now enters the rehabilitation process. There is no definite timetable for his return, but at least multiple weeks is the expectation.

This leaves the door open for a new starter in Washington. On the depth chart are former playoff hero Taylor Heinicke and rookie Sam Howell. No starter has been announced as of the writing of this article, but it is assumed the veteran deference would go to Heinicke. Heinicke’s fame came when he was forced into a spot start the last time Washington made the playoffs. He went to toe to toe with Tom Brady and almost gave Washington the victory in that game. Wentz has not looked great so far, and the Commanders’ pass catchers have suffered due to that. Heinicke may be the upgrade they need.

Miles Sanders League Winner

Two of the 2019 class of running backs are looking like league winners so far this season. Miles Sanders is joining classmate Josh Jacobs as a week-to-week RB1 for fantasy football. Before Monday Night’s matchup between the Broncos and the Chargers, Sanders ranked as the RB9 of the season. In a key NFC East matchup on Sunday Night Football, Sanders put up 13 fantasy points. This is very different than the narrative that surrounded Sanders this summer.

Much of the narrative around Miles Sanders this summer was not cheerful. Many people in the fantasy football community were fading him for several reasons. One popular one was that backup Kenny Gainwell was much more efficient in his limited workload. Another popular narrative was that Jalen Hurts would take away too many rush attempts and touchdowns for any running back to be productive in this Eagles offense. Miles Sanders was drafted as the RB29 in redraft leagues this summer and is easily smashing that ADP. However, he is in a contract year, and now may be the right time to sell high on Sanders.

Information is the most powerful tool any dynasty fantasy football manager possesses. If you can stay on top of the correct information more than your league-mates, you will come out on top. Many important fantasy players call the NFC East home. Be sure to check back with us, as we will be breaking down takeaways from every division this week. And be sure to come back next week, as we will be doing the same for all 18 weeks of the 2022 NFL season!
