2022 Tight End Dynasty Power Rankings!

Check out @DarthDbacks Dynasty Power Rankings for Tight Ends! Where are the Chiefs or Bucs ranked? This is all about their dynasty future!

I know I love reading power-ranking articles or lists on all my favorite leagues. It’s fun to see where people put your favorite team and why they think the way they do. It’s a good mind-flex activity in which you try to compile a list in your head. Here at Dynasty Nerds, we don’t do normal power rankings. Instead, I’m doing a twist on the traditional power rankings. I’m looking at all 32 teams from a dynasty power rankings viewpoint. I’ll rank each team, viewed from a dynasty fantasy football point of view. This is intriguing because a team like the Tampa Bay Buccaneers might be ranked quite high in a normal power rankings list, but in dynasty, Cameron Brate will drop them quite a bit compared to a normal list. Let’s get started on these Tight End Dynasty Power Rankings. Be prepared for some surprises.

1. Baltimore Ravens

Of course, Mark Andrews reigns supreme with the Ravens at #1. He’s still in his mid-20s and coming off being the TE1 last year. Now, he’s set to increase his target share with a healthy Lamar Jackson. I don’t see how the Ravens aren’t #1 in dynasty also after drafting two potential starting tight ends in Charlie Kolar and Isaiah Likely. Tight End Factory.

2. Atlanta Falcons

Kyle Pitts is a generational tight end. There’s no mistaking how amazing he will be in the NFL, especially when he plays with a real starting quarterback again. Sorry Marcus and Desmond, but I’m not sold on them. Pitts is #2 because of his quarterback play, but a year from now, I will likely have the Falcons #1.

3. Pittsburgh Steelers

The Steelers hit the jackpot drafting Pat Freiermuth last year. With two new quarterbacks this year, they should target their young tight end plenty, which means even more points for the young Pat. Pat reminds me of Darren Waller. He’s a great receiver with an amazing red-zone presence. Perfect for dynasty.

4. San Francisco 49ers

I can’t dismiss the risks that come with George Kittle. Yet, he’s still in his 20’s and doesn’t have a recurring injury. Plus, when healthy, he can win you weeks on his own. He’s a dynasty stud and will continue to be so with a decent supporting cast, including Tyler Kroft.

5. Arizona Cardinals

The Cardinals are set at tight end for the present and future with Zach Ertz and Trey McBride. McBride is basically a younger Ertz, while we know how good Ertz is. That’s why they are top-5 in these rankings and have an argument to be #1 for their tight end dynasty security.

6. Dallas Cowboys

Dalton Schultz completely broke out last year. If he stays with the Cowboys past this year, his dynasty future is secure as a top 5 tight end in dynasty. Due to that uncertainty, the Cowboys are out of the top 5 since their depth chart is lacking. At least Dalton is young and healthy.

7. Kansas City Chiefs

Travis Kelce is now the engine for the Chiefs’ offense. He’s going to be a top-2 tight end this year, but he’s also over 30, so how many more years does he have in him? What drops the Chiefs as they don’t seem to have a succession plan. They got Noah Gray and Blake Bell. 1-2 more elite years for Kelce, but then what?

8. Detroit Lions

Yes, the Lions added to their wide receiver room, and TJ Hockenson dealt with injuries last year. He’s only 25 and should continue to see plenty of targets for an offense that likely is playing catch-up again this year. Hock is a lock to continue being a TE1.

9. Las Vegas Raiders

This could be Darren Waller’s best year yet, as he finally will face single coverages. The only thing that drops the Raiders is due to Waller’s age. The Raiders do have Foster Moreau, but this is Waller’s team. He’s a great win-now tight end, but I don’t know about long-term.

10. Philadelphia Eagles

Dallas Goedert got paid and will remain a TE1 for the foreseeable future. That ensures Philly’s spot on the rankings. Add in potential good tight ends in Grant Calcantarra and Tyree Jackson, and this team is loaded at tight end. It’s just up to Hurts now.

11. Buffalo Bills

We saw Dawson “Fort” Knox breakout last year with Josh Allen. Now, he’s supported by OJ Howard. The Bills have an elite tight end room that should ensure they continue to be a TE1 room. I don’t see why Knox will do worse than last year or future, as the Bills barely added to their offense.

12. Miami Dolphins

Mike Gesicki is a cheat code for fantasy football. He’s a wide receiver that plays at tight end. Not fair, but in dynasty, nothing ever is. With a better head coach and offense built for Tua, I expect Gesicki to continue his great career. Gesicki’s young enough and athletic enough to keep being a TE1.

13. Denver Broncos

The Broncos have an enviable tight end room with Albert O and Greg Dulcich. Dulcich is the rookie tight end that looks like another George Kittle, in my opinion. Albert O is the TE1 and will catch passes from great QB Russell Wilson. Both are young, and you should get as many shares as possible. Studs, they are.

14. Chicago Bears

Finally free of Jimmy Graham, this looks to be Cole Kmet’s debut year as one of the next stud tight ends. As the second target of the offense, Kmet the Frog (23) should get fed tons of targets by Fields. He will get over 100 targets for the foreseeable future. Give me more shares of him!

15. New England Patriots

Mac Jones loves Hunter Henry in the red-zone. Give me those touchdowns and crucial catches. The offense is the same as last year which means Hunter Henry should see another healthy showing of targets this year and in the future. Jonnu Smith remains one to watch if Henry gets hurt.

16. Cleveland Browns

Gone is the curse of Hooper. Here comes David Njoku’s big breakout. He already averaged a super healthy 13.2 ypr last year. Don’t be surprised if he pushes for a TE1 finish this year or next after being paid and getting a quarterback upgrade with Watson. Keep your eye on Harrison Bryant too.

17. Minnesota Vikings

I was saying last year that Papa Irv Smith would blow up. Instead, I had to wait a year since he got hurt. Irv’s still super young and is now the TE1 in the new-look Vikings offense that should pass more. Give me a young breakout tight end all day as my TE2.

18. Seattle Seahawks

Noah Fant has finished as a TE1 the last two years and should get plenty of targets in the Seahawks’ offense. It’s just that the offense is so unknown right now. Will Lock or Geno be the quarterback? What about in a year? The unknowns weigh down Fant’s potential.

19. Los Angeles Rams

Tyler Higbee is still here to lead the Rams tight end room, where he will get you just under 10 points on average every week. His reliability in this hot offense is needed when it comes to fantasy. If I need a reliable TE2 on my roster, Higbee is solid.

20. Los Angeles Chargers

The Chargers added a potential long-term tight end in Gerald Everett this off-season. Any tight end playing with Herbert could be a TE1 any week, but this is a crowded offense. Gerald hasn’t proven to be an elite tight end and must deal with Donald Parham. Good backup, but that’s it for your dynasty team.

21. Green Bay Packers

Robert Tonyan is fully healed from his ACL tear last year. He’s a Pro Bowl tight end that has proven to be a dangerous weapon in the red zone. With the loss of Adams, Tonyan should feature heavily in this new-look A-Rod-led offense. Keep your eye on Josiah Deguara too.

22. New York Giants

The Giants went for youth and proven veterans on their squad. Daniel Bellinger is a great tight end rookie to get on your taxi squad. I’m a believer in him. While he develops, Jordan Akins and Ricky Seals-Jones are good late-TE2s to have on your roster for bye weeks.

23. Washington Commanders

The Commanders still have Logan Thomas, who should be ready to go following his ACL tear last year. He’s a proven high-end TE2 who still has a couple of years left, plus he’s playing with the best quarterback of his career so far. Cole Turner is another potential dynasty flier.

24. Houston Texans

Brevin Jordan has potential. However, this is a growing offense with no long-term plan at quarterback or running back. Jordan is easily replaceable at tight end. Thus, you can’t truly trust this offense at tight end aside from the fact that Brevin has shown more potential than much of the rest of the TEs below him.

25. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

With Rob Gronkowski’s retirement, the Bucs tight end room dropped significantly for now. Now, they are led by vet Cameron Brate and rookie Cade Otton. Otton looks like a future high-end TE2, but he must overcome his injury and prove that he’s ready for the NFL. Brate’s a fine TE2 right now. Their future without Brady is murky, though.

26. Jacksonville Jaguars

The Jaguars added a perennial drop of the year winner Evan Engram and still have Dan Arnold. Well, this tight end room has potential. However, the offense is crowded, and Engram has never shown that he can live up to his potential. Look elsewhere for your long-term dynasty tight end.

27. New York Jets

The Jets added lots of weapons for QB Wilson. In fact, they added Uzomah and Tyler Conklin to the tight end room while drafting Jeremy Ruckert. This room has potential in dynasty, especially if Wilson targets the tight end spot a bunch. However, they are all just fliers at this point, dropping them in the rankings.

28. Tennessee Titans

The Titans added Austin Hooper on a 1-year deal. He’s a fine dynasty stop-gap, but I doubt he’s there long. He hasn’t proven to be a valuable dynasty asset in the past couple of years, nor has Geoff Swaim. Take a flier on Chigoziem Okonkwo, their future.

29. New Orleans Saints

Man, I hyped Adam Trautman last year only to have egg splatter on my face. I’m avoiding this tight end room with even more competition for targets this year, including with Taysom Hill. Hill is an oddity at tight end that isn’t reliable, and Trautman seems to be more of a blocking tight end. No dynasty value.

30. Indianapolis Colts

The Colts drafted a super raw athletic tight end in Jelani Woods, but this is Mo Alie-Cox’s tight end room. I’m not super excited for either player as the team doesn’t use their tight ends a lot. This is evidenced by Doyle and Cox combining for 88 targets, not even close to a high-TE target range.

31. Cincinnati Bengals

The Bengals are ELITE at offense and passing the ball. Thanks to their trio of top WRs, the Bengals don’t throw to their tight ends much at all. CJ Uzomah is gone, as are his meager 63 targets. Replacing him is Hayden Hurst, who has a lot of potential, but this will be his third team and time as a team’s TE1. Not worth investing in this team’s tight end room.

32. Carolina Panthers

The Panthers aren’t exactly a tight end heaven when it comes to the NFL or dynasty fantasy football. They have Tommy Tremble, who put up a lackluster 20 receptions for 180 yards, while Ian Thomas continued his mediocrity as an NFL receiving tight end. Look away if you need a tight end for dynasty.
