Ben Sinnott will not be a coveted piece in rookie drafts, but he has unique value—the value of a dynamic offensive playmaker who can produce in the right system. Before a landing spot, all we can do is provide you with a scouting report, and we plan to do just that.
Coming from Kansas State and playing a non-defined position has left Sinnott in the air as a prospect. Where he can cement himself is by acing the process, and being a Senior Bowl selection is a good start. The next step will be doing well at the Scouting Combine, but until then, we only have the film to evaluate.

Sinnott originally planned to attend South Dakota in the Missouri Valley Conference for his collegiate football career. He had a scholarship to play there but instead opted to be a walk-on at Kansas State to play on a national stage. Once he found himself as a Kansas State Wildcat, he quickly carved out a role.
Sinnott started as primarily a fullback but eventually earned reps as a tight end. He provided a unique blend of power and speed that was a throwback-type player for the Big 12.
He would appear in 38 games over his three seasons with the Wildcats. Sinnott would earn several accolades, such as an honorable mention as an All-American in 2023, a two-time All-Big 12 player, and the Low Man Award in 2023 as the nation’s top fullback.
Best Traits
Hands
Sinnott has some of the best hands of any of the tight ends in this class as a receiver and blocker. He has good range and reliable hands to make tougher catches. Sinnott also has the hands to be a good blocker by sealing the edge. That dual ability is what teams covet when it comes to tight end prospects anymore, and it won’t change his chances of seeing the field early.
Blocking
Highlighted above was his blocking, but it really can’t be overstated how eager he is when it comes to blocking. Sinnott was used both inline and in the backfield by Kansas State, providing both pass and run blocking. It isn’t common for rookie tight ends to be utilized primarily as blockers while their other traits develop.
Contested Catches
Sinnott has good hands regarding contested catches, but concentration, focus, and strength also matter. He works a lot across the middle and in the red zone, where the defense is more condensed and able to make more hits at the catch point.
Trait Needing Development
No True Position
Sinnott is a great football player, but he needs to be able to focus on a position. Starting as an athletic fullback before becoming a tight end has affected his development. It will be interesting to see where he lands because Sinnott could produce well in the right spot. Sadly, those spots are few and far between, and because of that, I would be very cautious pursuing Sinnott in drafts.
Player Summary
Sinnott will be a heavily used player, whether on pass protection, run blocking, or receiving. He could be a good route runner with more work and coaching, but he doesn’t have the build to be a great NFL pass catcher. Sinnott can be a very good tight end, fit on any team, and give them someone who can be a reliable blocker on the edge while contributing. I predict the range of 30 catches and five touchdowns. He won’t light the world on fire, but he will be a fan favorite.

Great article but a deeper dive into good landing spots would be helpful.
