After coming off a four-touchdown game in the 2021 AFC Divisional Round, fantasy managers may have come into 2022 with unrealistic expectations for Gabe Davis. Many viewed his 2022 season as a disappointment. However, when you dive into the numbers, you will see that Davis had career-highs in targets, receptions, and receiving yards. The third-year wide receiver finished with 48 receptions, 836 receiving yards, and seven touchdowns. It gave him a WR36 finish in PPR scoring formats and WR24 in standard scoring. While playing in only 14 games, his 11.8 ppg averaged 33rd in scoring.
Gabe Davis wins at the line w/ his release (which he’s done consistently in camp) then stacks Elam & creates significant separation at the top of the route with a hard jab step outside. Very purposeful & precise throughout#Bills #BillsMafia #BillsCamp

The Bills’ passing offense ranked eighth in passing attempts. Davis’ ranking of sixth in aDOT (average depth of target ) for wide receivers makes him a tasty valuable option in the Buffalo passing offense. His target share rose from 10.5 % in 2021 (63 targets) to 18.5% (93 targets) in 2022. With 140 vacated targets coming into 2023, Davis looks to have a comparable target share once again. Davis is 24 years old and going into his contract year with Buffalo. He will look to cash in on a big payday with a big 2023 NFL season.
Praise From Teammates
Davis is getting plenty of positive comments from his teammates and head coach. Coach Sean McDermott said about Davis at the NFL Scouting Combine: “I thought he had a good year, I really did. He didn’t get off to a great start. There were some turbulent times in the front third of the season. I thought he handled the adversity very well and came back. He went through a high-ankle sprain and then finished the year and in a good way.”
Teammate Stefon Diggs had the following to say about Davis: “I feel like he had got nicked up a little early last year, but I think this year he’s gonna have an amazing year. He’s damn near wide receiver one in my eyes. If I wasn’t here, Gabe Davis would be a WR1. It’s something that I can hang my hat on when I say that. He’s an extremely hard worker.”
Davis is a Value!
When you dive into the Dynasty Nerds July ADP, Davis is worth the gamble. In dynasty start-up drafts, Davis is currently going at WR48. He is being drafted behind the following wide receivers: JuJu Smith-Schuster, Rashod Bateman, and Kadarius Toney, to name a few. Davis is an excellent value in dynasty start-ups right now.
The trade market for Davis is just as appealing. Some recent trades on the Dynasty Nerds GM include
- Gabe Davis for JuJu Smith-Schuster
- Gabe Davis for a 2025 second rounder
- Gabe Davis for John Metchie and a 2023 third rounder
- Gabe Davis for Romeo Doubs
Davis is primed to have his breakout year in 2023, and now is the time to capitalize on his cheaper cost. Good luck in your 2023 dynasty seasons, and remember to make sure to follow Dynasty Nerds on all platforms to help win those ships!
